2. The Role of A Project Manager
According to Kerzner, The Project Manager is responsible for
coordinating and integrating activities across multiple, functional
lines. The integration activities performed by the project manager
include:
Integrating the activities necessary to develop and a project
plan
Integrating the activities necessary to execute the plan
Integrating the activities necessary to make changes to the
plan.(Kerzner,2009)

Defines and reviews the business case and project
Initiates and plans the project by establishing its format,
direction, and base lines.
Works with project sponsors and management to give detailed
information concerning the progress and direction of a
project.
Manages the people and project in order to achieve goals, reach
targets, and deliver the project on time.
Drives the project to completion by leading by example and
motivating the team to accomplish its goal.
