    A message from Meredith

    Excursion Week

A very huge thank you to Nathan and Beck for opening

their home to our students during camp week.

A jam packed camp was held with scavenger hunts,

    Taekwondo lessons, fencing classes, Paramedic

instructions, archery lessons and cooking! Beck was

head chef in the kitchen, teaching our children to make

their own meals – homemade sausages and rainbow

pasta! Mr Steward invented a great game, sprinkler

soccer! Camp Mr Steward turned out to be the best!

Thank you to Fiona Hamilton for driving out the

Hamilton camper trailer and to parents, Cathy Passlow,

Nicole Hopkins and Justine Churchill for providing

    transport both ways.

K-2 had a fantastic learning experience at the

Uranquinty Bakery on Tuesday 5 November. Children

baked sourdough bread and an amazing family size

apple and cinnamon pie! Lunch was enjoyed at the

bakery with the bus on the way home smelling

amazing with home cooked goodies ready for

    afternoon tea!

We thank our fabulous P&C for providing a wonderful

experience by helping with funding for both

    excursions.

    Congratulations

Our very best wishes are extended to Jenna and David

Downey on the early arrival of their precious daughter,

    Caitlyn Beth.

We welcome Mrs Lesley Bowman to our school,

starting this Wednesday, as a replacement for Jenna

    while she is on leave.

    Robotics Shield

Selected students from Year 5 and 6 today combined

with St Joseph’s Primary School and Eurongilly Public

School for the Robot Shield at Junee High School.

A Robot Kit was provided for each team to create a

robot, developing teamwork and thinking skills.

The Junee Robotics Shield will conclude on Tuesday 26

November with standout teams from each day invited

    back for the shield presentation.

We thank Mr Matthew Brown, Principal Junee High

School for his continued wonderful organisation skills

and commitment to the Ngumba-Dal Learning

    Community.

    Swimming Lessons

Our Intensive 10 day Swimming Program begins this

    the following dates organised:

    Thursday 20 February

Entry into the pool is $2.00 per student per day or

$1.00 if spectating, payable to school before each

lesson. If you have a yearly entrance pass into the

    pool, please let us know.

The school bus has been organised to transport our

students to and from swimming, which we thank Ron

    for his availability once again.

Please make sure your child brings their swimming

costumes, a towel and hat each day, with the school

    sunscreen always available.

    Visual Arts Exhibition

Last Thursday afternoon Ms Leahy, Mrs Downey and

Mrs Ryan attended the opening of the Visual Arts

Exhibition at the Athenium Theatre, Junee. Our

student’s artwork was on display alongside all Junee

schools’ work including the Pre-school and St Josephs.

We thank Mrs Merrin Glasgow from Junee High for

organising a fantastic event and the team from Junee

High for their hard work with setting up the exhibition

    and catering for the opening.

    Year 6 Farewell

After counting your responses to our survey for where

to hold this year’s Year 6 Farewell, the result wasn’t

conclusive, so it has been decided to stay with tradition

and head to Eurongilly PS on Thursday 5 December

to join them for the celebrations. The event starts at

6:00pm and finishes at around 8:30pm.

Please return the tear off on the invitation attached to

indicate whether you can come and how many from

your family will attend for catering purposes. The

Eurongilly P&C will be providing a sausage sizzle. A

plate of party food to share for supper would be

    appreciated.

    School Leadership, 2014

Candidates for School Leadership positions of School

Captain, Vice-Captain and Sports Captain will present

their speeches on Thursday 5 December.

    Play Costumes

A big thank you to Rhonda Churchill for coordinating

the play costumes. Children will need a basic black T-

shirt, black shorts / leggings / trousers or skirt for the

    night.

    Sleepover

After the Year 6 Farewell at Eurongilly PS, Years 3-6 are

invited to sleep over at Illabo PS. I will be here to

supervise students but will require a second person to

make this happen. If a parent would like to join us,

please let me know as soon as possible.

    Junee Carols

Students who responded to our Expression of Interest,

will be combining with Eurongilly PS to present an item

for the Junee Combined Churches Carols on Sunday, 1

December at 5:00pm at the Memorial Gardens, Junee.

    Mrs Carter will be sup
