*Students with Advanced Placement credit and/or transfer credit showing successful completion of Calculus I may be placed in higher level math course.

• 26-27 Pre-Calculus (MATH 125).

*Students can take the Math Placement Test for possible placement in a higher level math course.

**Students with Advanced Placement credit and/or transfer credit showing successful completion of Pre-Calculus may be placed in higher level math course.

• 25 and below – requires testing for Pre-Calculus or higher in Placement test

First semester considerations…• To enroll in MATH 150 you must have:

– successfully completed Math 125 with a grade of C or higher.OR– qualified for placement by Math Placement Test score.

• To enroll in CHEM131/135 you must have:– High School chemistry and placement by ACT score.OR– Qualified for placement by Chemistry Readiness Exam.OR – successfully completed a) CHEM113 and b) MATH 120 or higher.

• All Engineering majors (except Construction Management and Computer Science-BA) require 3 semesters of Lab Sciences and 3 semesters of Calculus

• Construction Management includes a Business Administration Minor.

• The BA in Computer Science requires a minor.

Admission to Upper-DivisionThe following programs require an Upper-Division

application:Civil Engineering

Mechanical Engineering• SATISFACTORY COMPLETION OF LOWER-DIVISION GENERAL EDUCATION COURSES (English,

speech, chemistry, mathematics, and physics) shown in the first two years of the program with a GPA of at least 2.0.

• SATISFACTORY COMPLETION OF LOWER-DIVISION ENGINEERING COURSES (CS, CE, ECE, ME) shown in the first two years of the program with a grade of C or better.

• An approved APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO UPPER-DIVISION ENGINEERING COURSES. This form is available in the Engineering Student Services office.
