What exactly is TEDx?

TEDx is an international community that organizes TED-style events anywhere and everywhere -

celebrating locally-driven ideas and elevating them to a global stage. TEDx events are produced

independently of TED conferences, each event curates speakers on their own, but based on

TED's format and rules. It's a privilege to say that Balaji Institute of Technology & science is

organizing this event on 25 January 2019

Gear up guys! The first speaker of TEDxBalajiITS Speaker...

His name is Senthil Kumar M. He hails from Madurai, Tamilnadu-India with a great passion for

innovating through technology to solve real-life problems. He has innovated in fields like a

wireless network, defense, maternal health care, and safety solutions and filed nearly 10

patents for the same. Though he began His career as an engineer in Samsung |Qualcomm

Fortune 500 companies, He realized that He is called to be an entrepreneur. He quit His job to

found two tech startups, Geomeo and JioVio, in urban infrastructure and healthcare sector

respectively. He has the vision to build technology-enabled self-sustaining communities in my

region. He believes that "we can achieve this only by bridging the digital divide in the society

and by empowering the powerless/vulnerable. To this end, he actively engages in community

empowerment and education initiatives especially among girls and young women through

‘MetooMentor’ ’ a non-profit organization that mentors young women to innovate through

technology. With a handful of dedicated volunteers, I have reached around 1000 girls in

Madurai, Tamilnadu. Currently, this community development initiative has evolved into one of

the largest physical ‘Meetup’ communities in Tamilnadu. He has offered guest lectures in more

than 80 higher education institutes in India and has been honored as the top 5 Technology

Explorers in India by Nasscom. He has won several ‘hackathons’ at the national and

international level. He has also represented India in Battlemesh Research programme in

Europe’. At present, He is exploring ‘open source ecosystem’ and actively engaging with it as

one of its contributors.

Mr. Santa Santosh Avvannavar started his career as a consultant and Soft Skills Trainer. He is

presently working as Chief Commercial Officer at QtPi Robotics. After his college education

from NITK, Surathkal, he worked as a researcher at the University of Eindhoven, University of

Twente, and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He was also the Placement President while

working at IISc, Bangalore. He has over twenty-five publications of mostly research documents

in national and international journals. He has also authored sixteen conference papers and

regularly written articles for a national and worldwide daily paper.He has given a talk for TV and

Radio on Gender Equality. His book She: EklaCholo Re has become acclaimed writing. He is an

RJ at Radio-Active CR 90.4 Bengaluru’s first Community Radio. He covers topics on STEM and

Hope.He also dabbles in fiction writing and is the author of Adhuri Prem Kahaniya; Dear Wife,

Your Husband is not a Superhero, Second Heart and Get a Job WITHOUT an Interview; Be A

B.A.; Surrogate Author; Title is Untitled; Black, Grey and White; The Departing Point; God’s

In his current role, Rakesh is responsible for product design and operations in the firm. He brings in over 15 years of rich experience across corporate sales and marketing, product management,

business development, leadership roles, and facilitation. He has honed his customer engagement capabilities and business management skills during these years spent in corporate sales and marketing at leading corporates, his last stint being as the Country Product Manager for Hewlett Packard. Rakesh holds a graduate degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a Post Graduate Degree in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Kolkata. Sabyasachi is also the Co-Founder & Chief Research Officer (CRO) of Twelit MedTech Pvt.Ltd. He completed MS in Physical Sciences from IISER Kolkata (Govt. of India) with IISERK fellowship in 2015 as a topper of MS by Research program. He is also a B.Tech graduate in Electronics & Communication Engg (ECE) from WBUT, July 2012. Hemang Vellore is an enthusiastic geek since childhood. He has been the Polio Plus Ambassador for Rotary International District 3150 since birth. He is a Paul Harris Fellow too. He has participated in the Polio eradication program through Runs, Awareness Campaigns, and Talks in schools and on media. The coin boxes initiative is a big fundraiser for the Matching Grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He was an able volunteer for the flood relief activities during the Kurnool and Mahbubnagar.His interest in Robotics made him the National Champion in Robo Golf 2k16, conducted by MIT, Lawrence Tech University, Michigan and NovaRobo in IIT Hyderabad on the Jan 30th 2k16. The Team represented at the finals conducted in LTU Michigan. Hemang was honored with an Impact Award in Hyderabad.Hemang has been participating in various Tech fests conducted by various IIT’s and notable organizations till date. He was the Brand Ambassador for Robofest, conducted at IIIT, T Hub, Hyderabad on the 12th and 13th March 2k16. The Indian Drone Racing League has conferred on him the title of, “The Youngest Pilot-The Pride of India”.The Intuition program and Brighter Minds training equip Hemang with the skills to perform close to 20 acts blindfold. Hemang was the Invited Speaker addressing a jam-packed hall of 1500 students at the Impact 2016 in JNTUH organized by TITA, Telangana IT Association on the 13th Nov 2016, wherein he gave a demonstration of the Driverless Car replica of a Robot powered by an app on your Smart Phone.His love for Robotics has led him to Shilparamam as the Invited Special Guest to motivate the Children on the Children’s Day, 14th Nov 2016. He was a great crowd puller at the Children Science Congress.Hemang has won the Galileo Project Competition IIT Hyderabad, in Elan2017 on 20thJan – 22nd Jan 2017 for making the Best Telescope. His Drone Racing was given the second prize. He has also participated in Robotic events and won a lot of prizes in the spot on games.IIT Kharagpur, Kshitj2k17 26th Jan – 30th Jan 2017 gave Hemang an opportunity to showcase his skills in flying the fixed wings. He qualified the East Zone Finals Boeing 2017 competition by being in the Top 30 flyers category.Hemang has been honored with a cash prize of Rs.5000/- as an appreciation for his performance of the flight control by Boeing.Hemang had the opportunity to interact with Padma Bhushan Sri Radha Krishnan, ISRO, along with a few Nobel Laureates and the World’s First Humanoid Robot along with Mini n Micro Bots. He has also participated in Robotic Events and Workshops. The cultural extravaganza at the fest was a great relief to him.Being the Chief Guest on the National Science Day on 28th Feb 2017 for the Hi-Tech Residential School for the Science Fair all its 3 branches and motivating them to realize their dreams was an amazing experience for Hemang and everybody present there, especially the parents.IIT Madras Tecfests, on the 03, 04, 05th March 2017, Mechanica2017 and ChemClave2017 was amazing, wherein Hemang participated in various events like Robotics, Ultimate Hands-on, Junk Yard Challenge, Hydraulic workable Prototype event, Fusion 360 Design. He has attended workshops on 3D Modeling conducted by Auto Desk, IC Engines conducted by Ashok Leyland, Smart Automotives, R-Programming and Forensic Workshop.He had the opportunity to visit the Cfi Lab, a tete-e-tete with the NASA Mars Rover Challenge Team, the C-Beev, Center for Battery Electrical n Engineering Vehicles, Mechanical and Electrical Departments and interact with various Ph.D. Scholars on the job was very fulfilling.He was also actively participating in the 23rd National Conference on Communications held in ICSR, IIT Madras, attending workshops on Unconstrained 3D Imaging by Carnegie Mellon University and Probabilistic Theory on Deep Learning by Rice University.The Paint for a Cause on Pollution in Environment with his slogans gave him a Special Appreciation Award and a cash prize too at IIT Madras Research Park organized by Air OK Technologies.It was a great moment to be at the Osmania University, Hyderabad’s Centenary Celebrations year, on the 10th n 11th March 2017, wherein Hemang actively participated in the Robotic events of Junk Yard, Monster Track and Sarvatra conducted by Mech arena 2k17. He also participated in Akruthi ’17, Dept. of ECE in Yantra –Robotics.The National Level Symposium on Circuitrix by Technosance2017 was very interesting for him. Maneuvering the Dirt Rider from BAJA SAE Competition was very exhilarating.The orientation at the TIFR – Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Balloon facility in Hyderabad along with BITS Hyderabad students was a wonderful experience to comprehend Hemang’s upcoming Rocket Challenge. Hemang’s visit to the RCI, IMARAT Hyderabad is a curtain raiser for his mission in life.Hemang was the Pit Crew Member for the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge conducted on the 31st March-1st April 2017 at Huntsville, Alabama, USA. His sheer hard work made him the NASA Official Volunteer in the Competition. He also participated in the 10th Anniversary celebrations of International Space Education Institute, Germany.Attending the Space Camp and Home School Adventure Days at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center along with an

opportunity to interact with 105 International Teams worldwide was indeed a wonderful learning and collaborating experience for Hemang. Hemang screwed in a lot of nails into the Tiny House construction, a campaign to Save Energy by the University of Alabama. His first Geo Caching and Balloon Night launch was an exciting moment at the SWRILL facility, i.e Severe Weather Institute Radar and Lightning Laboratories in UAH, USA.Hemang was the youngest TEDx Speaker – Never Give Up – Aspiring Mindfully @ BVRIT on the 08th April 2017 in Hyderabad.Hemang had hands on in Rocketry in Chenganur in Low and High Altitude Rockets on the 10th April 2017 which will be witnessed by Sri. G. Madhavan Nair, former ISRO Chairman.The SMART workshop on 11th April 2017 at Global Aerosports in Thrissur was very exhilarating for him. Hemang’s visit to KINFRA in Kochi was very inspiring. He also attended a workshop on Digital Screen Printing and Vinyl Cutting in FABLAB Academy Kochi on 12th April 2017.His love for Virtual Reality made him attend the New Real Workshop on AR, VR & MR at Center for Innovation, IIIT Hyderabad conducted by HRD Ministry and SERC on the 15th April 2017.Hemang’s participation and presentation upgraded him from a Participant to a Mentor at the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2017, conducted in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh for the first time, in the IT Hub at Nunet Technologies from 29th & 30th April 2017.IICT-CSIR Hyderabad visit and interactions with the Principle Scientists like Dr. S. Sridhar, Dr. S. Prabhakar on 15th May 2017 paved way to equip Hemang for his upcoming assignment. The Honey Bee Network and the National Innovation Foundation, Fab Lab, has invited Hemang to attend the Children’s Creativity and Co-Creation Workshop.Hemang was one of the 60 Attendees who participated in the SRISTI UNICEF Summer Innovation School 2017 selected across the length and breadth from IIT’s in India conducted at Grambharti, Gandhinagar, Gujrat from 24th May to 12th June 2017 to solve the challenges faced by the tribal people. He has earnestly contributed towards understanding the problem of Cold Press Manual Oil Extractor and designing its solution at the National Innovation Foundation supported by Honey Bee Network.Being a Team Mate of Vigyan, Hemang has designed and developed the Payload for a two-level Hybrid Rocket competing in the America Spaceport Cup June 20th – 24th 2017, the first Indian to launch his payload from Le Cruz, New Mexico, USA.Hemang has been invited as a Delegate to participate in the 2nd edition of International Youth Conclave for Creating Livable Planet Earth 2017 on 27th July in Lucknow. The Y- CLiP 300 Delegates shall be identified as Kalam Ambassador's post Conclave on a voluntary basis to promote the missions of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and other Nation and Planet building actions. Creactos Projects invited Hemang as a Speaker to share his thoughts on Redefining Competencies, a two-day workshop 4th/5th August 2017 at Park Hyatt, Hyderabad. It was happy to see him connect to the Management Gurus and take notes during the presentation of the renowned Mr. Richard Rudolf from the USA on intense leadership jargons.Hemang is the youngest attendee at the International Innovation Fair by IIA from 9th to 11th Sept 2017 in Vizag. He has been appreciated for his participation by the A.P Minister for ITE&S Sri. Nara Lokesh, in the Citizen Centric Services Hackathon 2017 held in the Sunrise Towers, IT Hub conducted by AP Innovation Society. He is also featured in the official event documentary and interviewed by the leading TV channels. He shared some very fond moments with Padmashri Sri Y. He represented India along with the other participating country’s Delegates on the dias along with Maj. Gen.
