1 Peter 2:21-24 (NKJV) 21 For to this you were called, because Christ also

suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: 22 "Who committed no sin, Nor was

deceit found in His mouth"; 23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who

judges righteously; 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins,

might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed.

He Became Flesh John 1:1-14 (NKJV)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2

He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without

Him nothing was made that was made. . . .

4

Page 5: What Do You See In The Cross? 2 - The Suffering of Jesus

He Became Flesh John 1:1-14 (NKJV)

. . . 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt

among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and

truth. 5

Page 6: What Do You See In The Cross? 2 - The Suffering of Jesus

He Became Flesh Philippians 2:5-8 (NKJV)

5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the

form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but

made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming

in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He

humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even

the death of the cross. 6

Page 7: What Do You See In The Cross? 2 - The Suffering of Jesus

He Became Flesh Hebrews 2:14-17 (NKJV)

14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the

same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of

death, that is, the devil, 15 and release those who through fear of

death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

7

He Became Flesh Hebrews 2:14-17 (NKJV)

16 For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the

seed of Abraham. 17 Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His

brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make

propitiation for the sins of the people.

Isaiah 53:3-11 (NKJV) 3 He is despised and rejected by

men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He

was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows;

Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.

Isaiah 53:3-11 (NKJV) 5 But He was wounded for our

transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement

for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone

astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

declare His generation?
