I don’t get it? What is all this new company name and logo? Have Valley View been taken over? Is this the same company - what is going on? The contact details are the same. Looks tacky. I am mystified? I think they have got our company confused with someone else?

I don’t get it? What is all this new company name and logo? Have Valley View been taken over? Is this the same company - what is going on? The contact details are the same. Looks tacky.

I am mystified?

I think they have got our company confused with someone else?

Page 2: What did happen?

I am so sorry , I thought that it would help if I sent letters out to our existing companies with the new company logo. Didn’t you like my logo designs??

Ok, you will need to get started straight away. We need to get the new and correct Timeteam company details and logos onto the business documents.

You will need to copy the parent company - Valley View Style guide and update it with the Timeteam new details and logo. I will give you clear instructions in the Project 1 Details.

But before you start do you know what a Style Guide is? Check out the next slide

Wow, we have received some pretty damaging publicity through that mistake. You have arrived just in time

What is a Style guide? And Why would we want one?If you are not sure check out these websites

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Style_guide

There is an example of a style guide from the NSW police which you can find on the corporate homepage. This is worth checking out.

Here is a little more info on why we need style guideshttp://www.freewritingadvice.com/articles/index_files/45styleguide.htm

Standards are important, they will coordinate the look and feel of the business documents.

Working out the types of documents that an organisation needs is complicated. You would need to do the following:

1. identify the types of documents required 2. determine entry, storage and quality needs 3. determine the information technology capability 4. establish standards.

Important considerations are :The individual preferences for the design and production of documents that

the organisation would like to present. So unlike Max you would certainly make sure that you understand the company profile and discuss your ideas with Management before you finalise your documents

Cost is an important factor to consider in document design and production. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc261933.aspx

So we urgently need new letterhead and fax templates. Please use the standards in the parent company style guide, but use the new company logo, sponsor logo and VEA logo and contact details. Be sure to check the new company profile to make sure that the image reflects company values. Once designed please upload for management to check. I have written all this clearly in your Project 1 details

Ok, now one more thing, we must make sure that all the staff know why we need to use the same standards with our company documentation.

So please can you write a short report (a one pager with dot points) explaining what document standards are and why we must all follow the company style guide for all documentation??

So read all the instructions that I have left for you in Project 1 details.

After that why don’t you have a coffee break with Max ( and spend some time making him feel better)
