God’s Grace

Grace: Unmerited favor of God toward mankind.Grace must be deeply appreciated, and never be

minimized or perverted. Are you letting God’s grace be given to you in vain?I Cor. 15:9-10: God had been gracious to Paul.Paul considered himself the least of the apostles,

because he had persecuted the church.“His grace toward me was not in vain.”We must not let God’s grace be given to us in vain.

God’s Grace

Paul recognized how unworthy he was. Paul was a gifted man (Acts 22:3; Galatians

1:14; Philippians 3:4-6). What we were before Christ entered our lives

(Romans 3:10-18; Ephesians 2:1-3).Paul acknowledged God’s grace in his life.

He was an apostle by the grace of God (Proverbs 3:5-6; I Timothy 1:12; Ephesians 3:7-8, 6:19; I Corinthians 3:5-7; Acts 17:28).

God has bestowed grace upon you (Rom. 12:3-8).

God’s Grace

Paul worked hard. Philippians 3:7-14: Those things that Paul

thought to be important became unimportant after becoming a Christian.

Matthew 25:14-30: Parable of the talents. I Pet. 4:10-11: Use gifts to glorify God.

Paul acknowledged God’s grace in his life. After Paul worked hard, he still acknowledged

God’s grace. He was not better than anyone else.

Matt. 5:16: As we reflect Christ, we glorify God.

God’s Grace

Romans 6:1-5Do we think that sin, in a way, makes grace more

abundant?Paul tells us a Christian who continues in sin is

denying his or her own identity in Christ. We identify with Christ’s death and resurrection. Thus, we are to live a new life.As we stand before God in judgment, what do

you want to hear God say to you (Matthew 25:21, 23; I Corinthians 15:10)?
