As sponsors of the Official Mobile App of the Indiana State Fair, and for a second year, the Fair's popular recharging station for mobile devices, WGU Indiana is making technology accessible for thousands of visitors. WGU is also sponsoring the Main Street Stage, a venue providing full daily slates of country, rock, and jazz music through August 21. 'The Indiana State Fair has given WGU Indiana a tremendous platform to share the stories of thousands of Hoosier adults who have changed their lives by returning to college," commented WGU Indiana Chancellor Allison Barber. "And true to our mission as a convenient, online university, WGU is also excited to provide fairgoers with convenient technology solutions in the Indiana State Fair app and the WGU Indiana Recharging Station." The new Indiana State Fair App, sponsored by WGU Indiana, provides each user a chance to plan his or her day at the fair, while highlighting events for their friends on social media. Food and entertainment staples are easily accessible to app users. A full map of the fair and schedule of free and ticketed events can be found on the app as well. Both Apple and Android devices are supported. For those running low on their batteries, a mobile recharging station will be open from 10 am to 10 pm daily at the WGU Indiana Main Street Stage on the east side of the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand. More than 100 devices, including iPhones and Android mobile devices can be simultaneously charged in the shaded lounge. The WGU Indiana Main Street Stage offers visitors to the Indiana State Fair a diverse lineup of musical acts from morning until night. WGU students like Indianapolis's Stella Williams will receive recognition for their accomplishments. Williams was recently awarded the 6th Anniversary Celebration Scholarship from WGU Indiana to pursue her MBA in Health Administration. The $6,000 award will cover the cost of tuition for a full year. Stella Williams will join WGU Indiana staff and graduates at the Main Street Stage on Tuesday, August 9.
