The most inspirational speeches that I've heard in my life have come from people who have told me

that I couldn't do something. The long list of people who have suggested that I wasn't good enough,

smart enough, and talented enough to succeed shall continue to watch as I allow God to guide me to

A NOTE FROM MY MOM BEFORE YEAR 2 OF GRAD SCHOOL:

These words will resonate with me all year. For all those who have believed in me since day one, I vow not to let you down!

Access to higher education is a PRIVILEGE. I promise to go

even harder because I represent something much larger than myself! # MamaSaidFinishStrong  # YouWillNotOutworkMe

MY WHY: I do it for those who are no longer here, who are far better & more worthy than me,

those who are no longer able to exhibit their

greatness to the world. When I have reached my limit I am carried by them. I may look lonely, but I'm not alone. I will not be defeated because I'm a part of something much greater. This is what fuels me.

# BlackLivesMatter  ...I type that hashtag trembling with anger and apprehension knowing that it's not true in the society we live in. It's hard for me to sleep because regardless, I'm gonna wake up to a world where I am

constantly dehumanized, disregarded, and discriminated against. Nonetheless, I will not be silenced! # NoJusticeNoPeace

TRUTH & DARE: TRUTH is, it won't be easy, but I DARE you to survive!

With this knowledge I find comfort in the ambiguity and uncertainty of my future

MY GOAL: Each night, I want to be able to say that if this was my last opportunity to grind, to serve, & to live then so be it...I gave my all. But if God blesses

me with another day, a chance to be better, I vow to

YOUR AUTOBIOGRAPHY: Every person on earth has a sad story, which often becomes an excuse to

complain, fail, and give up. What truly matters is what you do with it. Allow God to be your editor and I

guarantee you’ll write a bestseller!

THOUGHTS & WORDS ARE POWERFUL: Taking out time daily to reflect on the good things that have occurred in your life is the

key to experiencing Joy & attracting more positivity (blessings). Do not plant seeds of negativity (through your

words or thoughts) & be shocked to harvest anxiety, depression, doubt, & discomfort. #ClaimItAndItShallBe

We each represent a single branch: weak, worthless, brittle, feeble, and fruitless unless

we're connected to something larger than ourselves! Where are your roots? How are you

being nurtured? What will help you to grow? # StayConnected

It's hard to be successful within institutions and systems that are set up for you to fail, constantly question your competence/abilities, and surround you with individuals who are both self-serving and

fraudulent. Yes it's hard...but it’s also imperative that you persevere! # Awareness  # SucceedAnyhow # Reality
