18th from 800am until about noon
Science Fair Update We have had to change the date of our schools Science Fair due to state PARCC testing that will be occurring the f irst week of March Judging for the fair will now take place on March 18th starting at 800am
We understand that the date change may affect your ability to participate as a judge However we are hoping the new date works for you so that our fair will stil l be a huge success Please let me know at your earliest convenience if you can or cannot volunteer for March 18th

On Thursday March 19 FCPS will be holding the 3nd Annual STEM Community Night at Oakdale High School from 630-800

On Tuesday March 24 2015 the 7th and 8th grade band students at WFMS will be participating in a county-wide adjudication festival The students will be traveling to Oakdale high school where they will be judged in various areas of their performing The students will have a combined band rehearsal on March 19th and 23rd during ELT Those two dates are the only times they will play together as a group before the adjudication so it is very
important that they attend Thank you for your support and lets wish our combined band success

Now pay attention here
This year is a once in a hundred year event 31415 Events and activit ies will take place throughout the day beginning with a Pi K family and individual fun run beginning at 92653
Special pi planetarium programs (aka P3) will be available throughout the day math activities and exhibits a pi scavenger hunt an Einstein look-alike contest (His birthday was 314) and several other contests will be a part of the festivities

JOIN FORCES WALK-A-THONPlease join Maggie Nealley Kyla Popielaski Jordan Skinner Paige Tolbard and Medha Kapoor on March 25th for the Join Forces Walk a Thon The Join Forces Walk A Thon is a event designed by our WFMS and Urbana Girl Scout Cadettes for their Silver Award Project They want to raise awareness of the Wounded Warrior Project and thank our military community for their service The students will walk around the FHS track during gym class For each lap they walk they will add a paper link to build a community chain that symbolizes joining together to support our military families and each other Wear red white and blue andor black and gold The girls have distributed informational f l iers about this event which include information about the Heros Path they will be creating If you have a loved one who served in the military and you would like to honor them on the Heros Path please send in a picture with Name and background information This picture can not be returned So please do not send one that you want back Please turn these in to your homeroom teacher If parents would like to participate please come to school at the time of your childs gym class We will offer l ight refreshments to parents who walk with us that day Sign in at the off ice and join your child on the FHS stadium track Please ask your child to see the f l ier for further information We hope the Join Forces chain will be really long
