‘Our Children Sing’ Hosts Annual Event for Many of the Talented
youth in Our Community
‘Our Children Sing’ is an annual program held in San Bernardino,
CA on or around September 11th of each year. This event was founded
by the late Alice F. Page, communi-ty leader, entrepreneur, and
“peace major,” in Septem-ber 2002. The “Our Children
Sing’ program allows a venue for many of the talented youth in
our schools, churches, and gang-riddled communities to come
together in peace to cel-ebrate one another without the fear of
violence. In this world of grown-up wars, national ri-valries, and
teen and young adult gang violence, Alice be-lieved that we should
start our peace outreach by reaching out to our children while they
are still young and impres-sionable and teach them how to work,
play, fellowship, per-form, and communicate with one another
without resorting to violence. After the devastating events of
9/11, Alice felt that she could no longer sit idly by without doing
something, anything, to help in the fight against violence and in
the
push towards peace. She be-gan her fight by reaching out to
numerous public officials and people of influence in the city and
state in an effort to bring about a National Day of Peace which
would be ob-served annually on Septem-ber 11; just one day of peace
when there would be no guns, no violence, and no fighting. Alice
worked tirelessly to bring about peace and non-vi-olence one step
at a time, start-ing here in her own backyard. She measured her own
suc-cess not by her own wealth or comfort, but by the lives she
touched on a daily basis. Like the heroes of 911 she knew that she
needed to do some-thing to make the world a bet-ter place. She
chose to put her words, her beliefs, her dreams

BENEFIT CONCERT” scholarship concert on Saturday, October 3. The
event will take place at the Hotel Ma-ya in Long Beach (700
Queensway Drive, Long Beach, CA) from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The goal of
the event is to raise schol-arship funds for African American
students at the five schools of Pepper-dine University. The benefit
concert will be headlined by the multi-faceted and award-winning
saxo-phonist Mark Allen Fel-ton. A Chicago native, Felton began
paving his musical pathway at the tender age of 11. He was inspired
by such great artists as Grover Wash-ington, Jr. and Earth, Wind
and Fire, and con-tinued honing his talent throughout high school
and college. Felton has
written several hundreds of songs including the theme song for
the na-tionally syndicated ra-dio show Radioscope. His musical
career has spanned more than 20 years – playing around the country
and through-out the world, includ-ing Japan, France, Ita-ly, and
the United King-dom. Felton has shared the stage with many
ac-complished artists in-cluding: Al Jarreau, Ole-ta Adams, Patti
LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Kenny G., Kirk Whalum, Dave Koz, Billy
Preston, Mar-cus Miller, Lalah Hath-away, and Jeffrey Os-bourne, to
name a few. Entertainment will also include performances by jazz
band The Groove Alliance (TGA), featur-ing Sheri Whitten (lead
vocals); Fleming Rob-inson (lead vocals and
“Sound Investment Benefit Concert”guitar); Robert “B-Bow”
Abraham (drums and vo-cals); Reginald Varnado (keyboard and
vocals); Martineau “Mott” Per-kins (saxophone and vo-cals); and
Ollie Elder, Jr. (bass). TGA was formed in 2001 by bassist Ollie
Elder, Jr., as “Base Six.” His vision for the band was to perform
instru-mental smooth jazz us-ing the saxophone, pi-ano, and bass as
lead voices. Responding to demands of Rhythm and Blues (R&B)
dance tunes, the band recruit-ed songbird Sheri Whit-ten and became
known as TGA. To date the band delivers high qual-ity R&B
music. Their sound is a combination of jazz, pop, and reggae. In
addition to enjoying the awesome sounds of Felton and TGA,
attend-ees will have the oppor-tunity to dance, mix and mingle,
while support-ing a great cause. Hors d’oeuvres and refresh-ments
will be served. For more information and to purchase tickets,

I want you to know that, that is the explicit meaning of the
words of Jesus in [Matthew 7:21-
23] “…Depart from me, ye workers of iniqui-ty…” I tell you
multi-tude of people who ex-pect to go to Heaven will go to Hell.
Thousands of “good” people, “mor-al” people, church mem-bers,
teachers, proph-ets, apostles, priests and preachers will find
them-selves lost when they ex-pected to be saved; con-demned when
they ex-pected approval; cast out of Heaven when they ex-pected to
be received in-to eternal bliss. They are professors without
pos-session. They are church members, perhaps, but
not Christians. They are reformed but not re-born. They have
lamps but no oil. For such peo-ple are false apostles, deceitful
workers, mas-querading as apostles of Christ. Dangerous De-ception!
Then the Lord said to me, “The proph-ets are prophesying lies in my
name. I have not sent them or appoint-ed them or spoken to them.
They are proph-esying to you false vi-sions, divinations,
idola-tries and the delusions of their own minds.” [Jer-emiah

NOTICE OF PETITION TO AD-MINISTER ESTATE OFMABEL THORNTONCASE
NUMBER: PROPS 1500742SUPERIOR COURT OF CALI-FORNIA, COUNTY OF San
Ber-nardino, 351 North Arrowhead Avenue, San Bernardino, CA 92415,
Central Branch. To all heirs, beneficiaries, credi-tors, contingent
creditors, and persons who may otherwise be interested in the will
or estate or both, of MABEL THORN-TON; MABEL PATTON; MABEL WESTONA
PETITION FOR PROBATE has been f i led by MARY THORNTON in the
Superior Court of California, County of: SAN BERNARDINO. THE
PETITION FOR PROBATE requests that MARY THORN-TON be appointed as
personal representative to administer the estate of the descendent.
The petition requests the de-cedent’s will and codicils, if any, be
admitted to probate.
The will and any codicils are available for examination in the
file kept by the court. The petition requests authority to
administer the estate under the Independent Administration of
Estates Act. (This authority will allow the personal
representa-tive to take many actions without obtaining court
approval. Before taking certain very important actions, however,
the personal representative will be required to give notice to
interested persons unless they have waived notice or consented to
the proposed action.) The independent ad-ministration authority
will be granted unless an interested person files an objection to
the petition and shows good cause why the court should not grant
the authority. A hearing on the petition will held in this court as
follows:Date: SEPTEMBER 23RD 2015 Time: «9:00 A.M. Dept.:
S-48Address of court: same as noted above. If you object to the
granting of the petition, you should appear at the hearing and
state your objections or file written objections with the court
before the hearing. Your appearance may be in person or by your
attorney. If you are a creditor or a contingent creditor of the
decedent, you must file your claim with the court and mail a copy
to the personal representative appointed by the court within the
later of either (1) four months from the date of first issuance of
letters to a general personal representative, as de-fined in
section 58(b) of the California Probate Code, or (2) 60 days from
the date of mail-ing or personal delivery to you of a notice under
section 9052 of the California Probate Code. Other California
statutes and legal authority may affect your rights as a creditor.
You may want to consult with an attorney knowledgeable in
California law. You may examine the file kept by the court. If you
are a person interested in the estate, you may file with the court
a Request for Special Notice (form DE-154) of the filing of an
inventory and ap-praisal of estate assets or of any petition or
account as provided in Probate Code section 1250. A Request for
Special Notice form is available from the court clerk. ATTORNEY FOR

CALENDAR Community Invited To Attend Event Celebrating
Recovery
Vickie Baumbach, DBH Alcohol and Drug Services Program Manager
II, and Veronica Kelley, DBH Assistant Director, at 2014 Recovery
Happens Event.
ONTARIO, CA- The Department of Behav-ioral Health (DBH) and its
community partners invite the public to help celebrate National
Al-cohol and Drug Addic-tion Recovery Month by attending the 12th
Annual Recovery Hap-pens event on Saturday, Sept.19 from 10 a.m. to
3 p.m., at Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park, 800 N. Archibald Ave-nue
in Ontario. This no-cost event is made pos-sible through the
support of local community part-ners, agencies and busi-nesses.
Recovery Happens will feature children’s activ-ities, family games,
en-tertainment, free refresh-ments (while supplies last) and agency
booths providing education-al resources. A special tribute will
take place for individuals in recov-ery, their families and
friends, and those work-ing in the field of pre-vention, substance
use disorder treatment and
recovery support servic-es. This collaborative event between
DBH’s Alco-hol and Drug Services (ADS) and communi-ty partners is
designed to increase awareness and understanding of substance use
issues while celebrating recov-ery. Recovery Month is sponsored by
the Sub-stance Abuse and Men-tal Health Services Ad-ministration
(SAMHSA) and was adopted by the San Bernardino County Board of
Supervisors in 2011. This year’s theme, “Join the Voices for
Re-covery: Visible, Vocal, Valuable!” emphasizes the value of peer
support in educating, mentoring, and helping others. “Recovery
happens ev-ery day. In September, we celebrate the jour-ney taken
by communi-ty members, family and friends, towards well-ness,
prevention, treat-ment and recovery,” said DBH Assistant Director,
Veronica Kelley. “DBH
is honored to host this annual event to support those we serve.”
DBH’s ADS provides a full range of substance use disorder
prevention, treatment and education for communities and residents
of San Ber-nardino County through a network of community based
organizations and County-operated clinics with the goal of
promot-ing prevention, interven-tion, recovery and re-siliency for
individuals and families. Through ADS, DBH is support-ing the
Countywide Vi-sion by working to cre-ate a county in which those
who reside and invest can prosper and achieve well-being. For
additional informa-tion regarding this event or DBH ADS services,
