We’re wrapping the season in enough Tinsel and Twine this

Sing A SongA favorite WSPD Holiday tradition is back again this year! Kids and parents alike will love singing carols with UGA’s Noteworthy chorus Saturdays this season at Westside Provisions District

For the past several seasons, the young ladies from UGA’s Noteworthy a capella

group have road-tripped down from Athens to spread their holiday cheer throughout the district. Noteworthy was founded in 1988 and to this day remains UGA’s only female a

capella group. The group specializes in voice-only renditions songs. They’ve released three commercial recordings, topped the college music charts and have won CARA awards from the Contemporary A Capella Society. They’re currently recording a new CD, due out this spring.

On Saturdays, November 24th through December 15th from 12pm to 2pm, bring the whole family to the District to catch Noteworthy caroling. Like them on Facebook at facebook.com/uganoteworthy for news and event notices.

Boutique De NoëlAs part of our Tinsel and Twine celebration, floral designer Marie-Laure Coste-Dujols is back with her acclaimed holiday décor pop-up, Boutique De Noël, open Tuesday-Saturday 11am to 7pm and Sundays 12pm to 6pm

Floral and garden designer Marie-Laure Coste-Dujols inspires Atlanta

this holiday season creating a whimsical boutique using monochromactic earthy colors and elements that can be found in nature at this time of year. Boutique de Noël offers sophisticated and elegant holiday décor including boxwood topiaries, potted bulbs such as classic paperwhites, plus ornaments, wreaths and garlands made of moss, rosemary, eucaluptus—and much more.

Marie-Laure’s design philosophy’s objective is to recognize the most beautiful specimens of what is provided naturally and to create something beautiful from what might otherwise not even be seen. Stuffed Pork Tenderloin w/ Cobbie’s SauceRecipe courtesy of Billy Hulse

1 pork tenderloin2 jalapenos thinly sliced2 garlic cloves thinly sliced4 spring onions (white part only) thinly slicedSalt and Pepper to tasteCobbie’s Sauce

Using a paring knife cut small diagonal slits in the pork 1 inch apart. Inside each slit put a slice of jalapeno, garlic and spring onion. Salt and pepper the pork. Grill to your level of doneness. We cook to medium rare and let it sit for 8 minutes until it is just a little pink in the middle. Baste with Cobbie’s Sauce toward the end of grilling. Cut into 1-inch slices and serve with Cobbie’s Sauce.

Save the salad for summer. This winter, we asked our chefs to dish about their favorite comfort foods. From

left to right, top to bottom, here’s what they’re offering up this season:

1. Star Provisions boasts a mouthwatering shrimp po’boy served on a hoagie roll and topped with Cajun mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato and pickles.

2. JCT Kitchen serves up Chicken & Dumplings: Confit chicken leg with house-made ricotta dumplings and local vegetables.

3. FIGO Pasta’s Zucca features made-from-scratch ravioli stuffed with butternut squash and amaretto, topped with a mascarpone and Italian radicchio sauce.

4. Taqueria del Sol’s Fried Chicken Tacos, made with with strips of fried chicken breast, lime jalapeño mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato, are a cold-weather favorite.

5. Yeah! Burger is serving up Crispy Brussel Sprouts. These local sprouts are flash fried and topped with Capra Gia goat cheese.

6. West Egg Café baristas team up with pastry chef Chris Marconi to present this comfort food favorite: A Batdorf and Bronson cappuccino with house-made macarons.

7. Abattoir takes a traditional burger to the next level with chef Tyler Williams’ Abattoir beef burger. The thick, juicy patty is locally sourced and topped with fresh cheddar cheese and crispy beef bacon.

8. Ormsby’s invites you to dig into Uncle Fred’s Ultimate BLT: Applewood-smoked bacon, tomatoes, butter lettuce, homemade mayonnaise, sunny-side up eggs, toasted country sourdough bread.

9. Bacchanalia’s pastry chef Carla Tomasko presents her decadent Valhrona chocolate cake. The rich dessert is handcrafted with 68% Vahlrona dark chocolate and finished with fresh mint ice cream.

Food Drive!Founded in 1979, the Atlanta Community Food Bank procures more than 35 million pounds of food and groceries each year and distributes it to over 600 nonprofit partner agencies. You can help!

The Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) has been an invaluable community resource for more than 30

years. They’re located right down the road from WSPD at 732 Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard, and WSPD is hon-ored to partner with them this year for a food donation drive.

We’ve placed food collection barrels at strategic loca-tions throughout the District. These can be found at:

Just Call Her “G”Ever wonder who’s behind WSPD News? That would be Gerlinda Grimes, Manager of Creative Services and long-term employee of Michael Phillips and Kathleen Walker (owners of WSPD).

That’s me, Gerlinda, on the right, pictured in front of Connelly Memorial Baptist Church with my Dad and

my brother circa 1978. Though I no longer regularly chew on straws, I’m still a huge tomboy. You’ll find me behind the scenes in my Puma sneakers and hoodie, snapping photos, updating WSPD’s social media, maintaining the website, coordinating events with Sandi Parker and the rest of our creative team and, of course, writing/design-ing quaint little community newsletters like WSPD News. It’s a sweet gig. I also enjoy playing guitar and taking long walks on the beach (cue Barry White).

My parents swear that my name, Gerlinda, comes from a baby book. I’m pretty sure I’ve spent at least 4,023 hours of my life saying “It’s Gerlinda, like Geronimo.” Please feel free to call me “G.” And, please feel free to reach out to me anytime if you have an idea for something you’d like to see happen at Westside Provisions District. Wouldn’t it be fun, Seed Factory’s Rachel Baba wouldered, if WSPD put a “handmade” twist on

the traditional holiday pop-up experience? Rachel set out to procure top artisans from all over the country to be part of an outstanding artisinal stocking bar. Meanwhile, WSPD got St. Nick on the horn and rounded up the At-lanta Community Food Bank for a seasonal partnership. Tinsel and Twine kicks off December 8th and 15th from 11am to 4pm. Here’s what you’ll find:

Free photos with Santa! Get an old-fashioned “photo booth” strip of 4 photos with Santa. Photos are free, but pleased bring a non-per-ishable food item to donate to the food bank. (1)
