This month WPW presents the two time ExplosivePro Wrestling champion and the Ironman ofAustralian Wrestling, Davis Storm.

    Photo: Explosive Pro Wrestling

For those of you who have never heard of me, myname is Davis Storm and Ive been wrestling forExplosive Pro Wrestling since its inception in2001. Firstly, Id like to thank Tez and the WPWcrew for asking me to provide the editorial for thisissue.

Before I get into the meat and potatoes of what Iwanted to write about, Id like to thank the fans,

businesses and EPW staff who helped with theTelethon fundraiser that we held a few weeks ago. With your amazing support, we were able to raiseover $3500 for Telethon. Thank you all so much.

We hope to beat that figure in 2011.Now lets get on with it2010 has flown by and we are quickly coming up

to the end of the year. For us at EPW, the end ofthe year is special because it brings with it our

biggest event, Re-Awakening. In the past eightyears, Re-Awakening has provided a platform forthe wrestlers to create some of the most memorablemoments and matches in Australian wrestling. Forus, it is a special event that represents our hardwork and commitment to what we do.

Wrestlers such as Jimmy Payne, Mikey Nicholls,Shane Haste, Tyler Jacobs and Bobby Marshall

have used Re-Awakening as a chance to showexactly how good Australian wrestling can be.There have been so many amazing moments overthe years.

No-one that was there will forget the energy inthe crowd as two rabid mobs of supporters, thePayne Army and the Stormtroopers, battled backand forth at the first Re-Awakening. Or theabsolute anarchy of the six man street fight asTeam EPW and the Uprising went to war thefollowing year. Or the pure emotion as Shane Hasteturned in an amazing performance against Havok inthe Invitational Tournament final that would launch

him to the next level in EPW. Or more than 850people watching on as Richter, Bobby Marshall

and myself laid it on the line in a hard fought cagematch.

These are the moments that we work for everyday that we spend training and applying ourselvesto our craft so that we may get the opportunity toshare our love for what we do with the fans who

allow us the privilege to perform for them.

I believe that Re-Awakening is a showcase ofhow good Australian wrestling can be and I cantwait to see who steps up in 2010 to create amemory that will help push them to a level thatthey previously didnt think was possible. Quitesimply, I can not wait for November 27th.

    Davis Storm

TITLE HOPES RE-AWAKENEDThe EPW Championship match forRe-Awakening9 was decided when Davis Storm defeated JayTaylor in the final of the Number One ContendersTournament at the Telethon Bash, setting up arematch fromEvolution 2010 against EPWChampion, Jamie Jurah. Storms path startedshakily losing a Quarter Final match againstTaylor, before entering and winning the BattleRoyale, last eliminating Shotgun Tyler Jacobs, and then a Semi Final match against BobbyMarshall.Re-Awakening 9 will be held on

    November 27 in Balcatta.

    NOT SO QUIET RIOT

    Photo: Explosive Pro Wrestling

The Telethon Bash saw an arena wide brawl flaringup between the Blackest Hour and Team Allstar

prior to the start of the Battle Royale, fuelling thefire between the factions and Adrian Priest ending

up in hospital after being put through a table bySebastian Sander. This has led to EPW Board of

Directors member, Brett Corvus, making the firstever Eight man Riot Den match to be held atRoadto Glory 2.

The Riot Den is best described as a cross betweenWCWs War Games and TNAs Lethal Lockdown, where two men will start and then at two minuteintervals wrestlers will enter, until the 15 minutemark, where the weapons will be lowered into thecage. The rivalry began atKristmas Kaos 2 lastDecember, when The Don Michal Morleonerefused to lay down for the Blackest Hour.

    PLAYING THOSE MIND GAMES

    Photo: Explosive Pro Wrestling

Nate Dooley showed no charity to Jimmy Payne atTelethon Bash, cutting a promo goading the formertwo time EPW Champion to the point of bringingout a Payne imposter. Payne emerged from the

back, after hearing enough of Dooleys trashtalking and speared his former friend through a

    table.

After a short hiatus, its now time (once again) forTHE SAN COUNT: Counting down stuff, etc. Thismonth I will be taking a look into the future, in

particular, November and December of 2010.Starting November 19

    thand concluding December

    4th

will see the biggest events of the year from theNHPW, EPW and SHWA promotions(respectively). I will not only discuss what we canexpect from these shows, but give some details onthem as well. Starting chronologically

    3. NHPW presents THE FINAL CHAPTER

This year alone NHPW has flown in many wellknown names in wrestling today, some of theseinclude: Former ECW Star Balls Mahoney, ROHWrestler Colt Cabana, as well as Former TNASuperstars Sonjay Dutt and Awesome Kong, in

addition to various interstate talent from Australia.NHPW will be looking to finish the year in the

biggest way possible, on Friday 19th and Saturday20

thin November with The Final Chapter. The

reason why is it the final chapter is due to Manathe Polynesian Warrior ending his 10 year career ashe will be facing former WWE Superstar GENESNITSKY, which guarantees to be a brutal war.

The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels will alsobe coming down under for these events, hisopponents are yet to be named but we can onlyexpect the best from the former TNA X-DivisionChampion. The Final Chapter: Friday 19

    thand

    Saturday 20th

November. Les HansmanCommunity Centre in Morley.

    2. EPW presents RE-AWAKENING 9

Not only is Re-Awakening the biggest event inEPW, but one of the biggest in the entire country.Having attended a few Re-Awakening events, ifyoure wanting to see local wrestling as its best, this is a show you want to be at. It is the longestrunning annual wrestling event in WA, and forgood reason. EPW will invade the Vasto Club inBalcatta for the first time on Saturday November27

thfor this show, where the best in EPW, as well

as some of the finest in Australia, gather to dobattle. Potential main event for the show thus far isIronman Davis Storm (who won a Number.1contenders tournament in August) challengingJamie Jurah. The event will also see the finals ofthe invitational tournament, with the winnergaining not only the trophy, but a title shot as well.Rounding out the card will feature matchesshowcasing the EPW roster, including a variety ofgrudge matches (one of these is the Blackest Hourvs. Team Allstar war which first began inDecember). Saturday November 27

    th. Vasto Club

    in Balcatta.

    1. SHWA presents ASCENSION II

For SHWA, not only is Ascension the biggest eventof the year, but the weekend of December 4

    thalso

celebrates the 2nd anniversary of the company.SHWA first incepted on December 6th, 2008 withExodus, the very first show. After a year of runningevents in Karrinyup (with one-off events inCanning Vale and Morley), many wrestlers had

appeared on the cards, including current WWESuperstar, Chris Masters. Ascension on December5th, 2009 marked the first anniversary, which is stillconsidered one of the best shows in the promotionsshort history. This was the final event in Karrinyup,as the company started up their second year inCanning Vale, and has only been a beneficial move(as proven with the most recent events). Now ontothe show, Ascension II will mark the secondanniversary, and will be one of the bar-settingshows to end the year. The Courtside MultisportsComplex in Canning Vale will host the show, asSHWA will jam pack the card with many great

matches. If you havent been to a SHWA show, seriously considering coming to Ascension II, as it

One half of the voices of Explosive Pro Wrestling, and the 2009 WPW Commentator of the Year,

Mean Dean Olsen brings WPW all the latest on theEPW scene.

Welcome back to the Mean Scene, well 2010 justkeeps getting more and more exciting in ExplosivePro Wrestling. Were in the second half of the year,on the road towardRe-Awakening, but before wecan get excited about that, there is a major feud thathas been dwelling in EPW since the end of 2009that needs to have a result. Of course Im talkingabout Team All Star vs. The Blackest Hour. Wehave seen so much carnage and destruction at thehands of both teams, and I think things are about ithit a peak at EPWsRoad To Glory on September11 at the Queens Park Rec Centre when both teamface off in the first ever Riot Den Match. But

before we get into that, lets look at where this allbegan.

2009 was the year for the Blackest Hour, sinceRick Sanders executed his master plan, formingthis group of evil individuals with Devlin Reevesand the man they helped become EPW champion

Richter, they have had a choke hold on the entirecompany. Then in December atKristmas Kaos theBlackest Hours newest member Adrian Priest

(formally known as Jose Del Santo) was to have amatch with Team All Stars 2009 number one draft

pick, The Don Michael Morleone. These two hadhad a history of great matches together, but theBlackest Hour didnt want a contest, instead theyordered the Don to lay down and give BlackestHour the victory. As we know of Team All Starthis is never an option and a brawl between theBlackest Hour and Team All Star broke out, untilBrett Corvus stepped in and decided to make a tagmatch between both teams. The Blackest Hour gotthe win, and probably thought they had gotten ridof another obstacle in there way, but the battle wasfar from over.

    Photo: Explosive Pro Wrestling

Rise or Fallsaw a 6 man tag match of both teamsdue to everything that happened atKristmas Kaos,

but this time things were different, Blackest Hourhad added an new member to the group, themassive Dorian. Despite all this Team All Starwere not deterred, they were so focused on revengeand fought an amazing contest. The entire W.A.

wrestling world was almost in shock that night asSebastian Sander got the pin fall victory over theEPW champion Richter. Since the Blackest Hoursreign of terror had begun no one had been able todominate Richter the way Sander did, and TeamAll Star paid dearly for the victory. The Blackest

Hour 4 on 3 beat down team all star in a brutal waywith Richter delivering choke slams to all themembers just to let them know who really was themost dominant team in EPW.

Goldrush 3 had Richter defending his EPW titleagainst an old rival in Jamie Jurah and the two hada spectacular match that is still sending shockwaves through EPW today. It was late in the matchwhere unsurprisingly the Blackest Hour stormedthe ring to take charge of the match and make sureJurah had no chance of winning. Team All Star hadnot forgotten the beating they took a month earlierand werent going to let the Blackest Hour have

their way. Another brawl between both groupserupted and amongst the chaos Sebastian Sandernailed Richter with a chair shot and enabled Jurahto get the win and the EPW championship. TheBlackest Hour were so furious that at Evolutionchallenged Team All Star to a mach up and it wasutter carnage. Team All Star may have regrettedwhat happened at Goldrush after the severe beatingthe got atEvolution, and the sight of Big Vin being

powerbombed through a table is a sight many of uswill never forget.

    Photo: Explosive Pro Wrestling

Team All Star were not finished, they regroupedand made an important phone call to the man whostarted it all, the original All Star Brad West, whomade his return to EPW atHell or Highwaterwhere he and his team beat the hell out of theBlackest Hour and let them know it wasnt over

yet. Then last month at EPWs annual TelethonBash, a battle royal was meant to take place withmost of the roster, but as soon as both the All Starsand Blackest Hour were in the ring, it was on. Themassive brawl between both groups that followedwas insane, it went all over the Cyril Jackson RecCentre, using anything they could find as weapons,it was totally out of control, in the midst of it allAdrian Priest was thrown out of the ring and putthrough a table at ring side, resulting in him beingtaken to hospital. It eventually took the entire EPWroster to tare both teams apart and keep themseparated. Brett Corvus then came out letting both

teams know that this had to stop, both teams had toonce and for all finish this war. He then declared atEPWsRoad To Glory it would be Team All Star(Brad West, Big Vin, The Don and SebastianSander) up against the Blackest Hour (Richter,Devlin Reeves, Dorian and filling in for the injuredAdrian Priest, Rick Sanders). The match that has

been ordered is no ordinary match, but a Riot Denmatch.

This has never been done before in EPW and justshows how intense this feud is. The match will startwith two opponents in the ring, then every twominutes another member will enter. Surrounding

the ring side area is riot fencing so no one can getin or out, there must be a winner. Then at the 15minute mark an area full of weapons will beopened for all members of both groups to use atthere will, seeing everything that has happened

between these two groups in the past Im sure allthe weapons will be used and destroyed over eachother. The team that scores the pin fall will be thewinners and will have stamped there superiority inEPW, this match is guaranteed to be unlikeanything you have ever seen before, there can only

be one winner.Team All Star vs. The Blackest Hour, Riot Den

match at EPWsRoad To Glory, September 11,Queens Park Rec Centre, be sure not to miss it.Until next time keep supporting local wrestling andstay tuned to epwperth.com

New Horizon Pro Wrestlings Mana, The

Polynesian Warrior, brings Westside Pro Wrestlinga monthly column in which he gives his thoughts onthe current scene or talks with superstar friends

from his past in the United States.

Top Ten Singles Opponents of my Career

As I head towards the end of my career I justwanted to reminisce over my top 10 opponents Ihave had the pleasure of entering the squared circleagainst. This may seem like name dropping but

honestly to me I have truly been blessed to havelearnt under these people and that they gave me thetime to talk to me afterwards with advice etc tohelp me develop. Either that or we partied after thematches because we enjoyed that fights lol. Thosewho deserve mention are guys like Eddie Guapo,Jon Cannon, Moondog Molsonn, CannonballKris Taylor, Richter, Gangrel, Boogalou and somany more that I know I have missed but I will

blame Chair shots on this case

    10) Supreme Lee GreatSLGs Mouth made it s easy to work him every

timedidnt make it easy to put him over (as Ifound out once). SLG is one of the best mic menand bumpers in the business bar none. He makes iteasy for the crowd to love him or hate him. For theopponent you just have to clock in and clock out

because he will make you look a million dollars. This pays homage to his trainers at WSTC and heis a true pro when it comes time to work in the ring.He always makes me smile and was actually a hugereason I survived in the school because of his brutalhonesty and in general. He is one of the real closestfamily I have and has welcomed me into his realfamily. He is a great Friend and will not ever let

you down...On purpose because he sucks with histime management. Many time when I was down he

talked me back to reasonThat is truly the SLGthat I have that not a lot of people in this worldknow.

    9) CrowbarI first met Crowbar and was stunned by hisdemeanour - he is a legit great guy. As with all theguys on this list Crowbar is a giving worker whoappreciates what you do for him and he makes youwant to appreciate what he gives back. He is a greatwrestler which not many know but truly an honestguy. He is one who I would take a fall off a

building if he said it was safe. Truly was coolfacingoff with one of the craziest characters in WCWhistory for sure.

    8) Ron ZombieRon Zombie is a Connecticut cult hero and a guywho just loves doing the most out of it offense,Although he and I were renowned for Hardcore it

was actually just the fact that we beat the crap outof each other. Zombie was another easy night

because his character would bounce of mine, enjoyit and come back for more. Which for me was atrue first because with Mana you get hit you staydown. Zombie did have a very high pain tolerance, thankfully back then I had a better stamina fordishing out pain. I beat Zombie and Dylan Kage formy first title in Connecticut, Zombie was one of theinfluences why I got it. He will always have my

back and I will always have his - a genuine brotherin this business which is hard to find.

    7) Notorious 187 HomicideNothing better then enjoying an opponent whoboots you square in the face - Homicide is lightningquick, precise and hard hitting, much like yourfriendly neighbourhood Gangster Killer !!! He is all

business and I faced him many times and mostly onthe losing side of the ledger. One thing aboutHomicide - that ring is his office and like hisstudent Low Ki (Kaval) intensity. He will hit youhard and you can try hit back as hard but reallythink logical here, you really going to hit someonehard enough who has worked matches where hewas concussed, broken shouldered, dives of a legit

50 foot balcony in Japan and yes folks wresltedshot with a bullet in his leg with Duct Tape to holdhis leg together?Yeah Good luck !!! I respectand love D and I am truly thankful to call him afriend. Homicide is The Man when I was comingthrough and his Doghouse Wrestlers were thetightest group of warriors and students.

    6) Balls Mahoney

    Photo: New Horzon Pro Wrestling

Jon Rechner was legit a person I was intimidatedby initially - he was a barrelling bear of a man andone of those genuine crazy people. At the time Iwas in deep thought about my direction of mywrestling career and was in some ways in a time ofdepression. I wanted Mana to be broken andinjured so I could have an excuse to go home. BallsMahoney was the tonic - I faced him in an old

boxing gym in Philadelphia and lets just say he hitme with a Table, Forks, my own Club and aFlaming Glovemy offense I hit him with a teddy

bearWith a brick inside. Jon and I have achemistry to even at this tour where I was luck tohave him he still goes on about as one of hisfavourite opponents and people in wrestling.Thats a huge compliment from an original ECWstar. Balls is a wild man with a Heart of gold - heloves life but loves partying more. He is one ofthose friends who will always be there as well andhits hard as hell.

    5) SniskyGene and I always got along but our charactersalways seemed to clash. When we were students at

the Wild Samoan Training Centre we had comeafter a fury that was Dave Batista - comparisonsbetween Gene and Dave because apparent as didmyself and Samu. Gene was originally not trained

by WSTC though.I always got an injury with Genesad to say, not because Gene would do it(sometimes he would) but like Abyss I would wantto do stupid things to make him look better. Genewas my first ever Title victory in World XtremeWrestling (WXW) and I still hassle him that henever beat me

    4) Innovator of Violence Tommy DreamerMy very first main event in front of a crowd a little

over 7000 people - Tommy Dreamer is a genuineperson so much so he remembered me nearly six

years later and when he came to shake my hand fora one on one match with him he said to me OhHey Mana wasnt Hack (Sandman) and I your firstMain Event with Samu for Afa?. This warmed myheart because I was only five months into thewrestling business when I wrestled Tommy and he

had remembered me. Wrestling Tommy wasawesome and because at the time he was being

pushed in WWE (This was when ECW was aboutto return). I was lucky enough to face Tommy thenSabu within an hour of eachother and both wherehappy with the matches because they were easy.

    3) King of old School Steve Corino

    Photo: New Horizon Pro Wrestling

The most brilliant mind I came across when it cameto wrestling business or psychology. Steve is anopen book to those who ask the right questions orwho sit and listen. He is so light and definitely oneof those few who looks sharp while be terriblylight. Steve is the epitome of professional andunlike most is not one of those superstar types - heis one of the boys. Steve Corino through the yearsopened so many doors and helped me get so manygreat matches. First time I wrestled Steve was inPhilly and he had no problem with the match that I

won. He schools people purely by the way he is ata show - thats his aura and outside the ring makesyou laugh because Corino is one of the boys andlike the rest on here a true friend.

    2) The Monster AbyssI dont have to say much about what Abyss vs.Mana meant to a lot of people - this rivalry definedand made my career in the North East and all overAmerica. We cemented ourselves by trying to outdo one another in a can you top this you crazy pricktype relationship. Abyss in business terms for mewas a Brutal night off but for my friend - ChrisPark I would do anything. It was later when I

returned home that I heard news that Abyss wastrying to get me to TNA with a story as his brother

Mimic which was filled by Johnny The Bull. I willalways appreciate my time in the ring with one ofthe best if not the best Monsters in the world today.

    1) Headshrinker SamuWhat can I say about the man who I looked up tofrom 13 years old - he was my idol, my inspiration. In saying that when I went to shake his hand whatdid the Great Samu doignored me and walked

by. I was heartbroken for a second but then decidedI was going to be the best student not knowing atthat time that Sam was in a rush to see his Dadafter a few days absence partying where Afa theWild Samoan would have beat his as in front ofeveryone lol. I was a fan of Samu watching him

back in the days against the Road Warriors and inWar Games. I was a tag team fan of the Bulldogs,The Hart Foundation, The Islanders, Demolitionand yes The Samoan Swat Team of Samu and Fatu.I have truly marked out twice when I began

wrestling - that was meeting Superfly JimmySnuka and The Rock Don Muraco, but then therewas wrestling the Great Samu. This match waswhere I started my 3 Chair shots to the head spot. After one from Samu I wish I hadnt - also Samsaid turn your head from the spin kick out of the

corner and me being young and prove to my idol Iwanted to do a good job ran into full speed Damn near disconnected my head from my body Iswear. Funny thing is I was legit knocked out forthe count and remember opening my eyes lookingat the ceiling roof saying Oh this is what countingthe lights means, look theres Five. Samu is my

brother, he is still to this day my idol and forevermy Tag Partner as the Headshrinkers, SamoanIsland Tribe or Team Extreme. Not everyone getsto learn from there idols of Samu and the SamoanDynastyMana the Polynesian Warrior did andwill feel blessed the rest of my life.
