Hello Warriors: As we enter the third period of our school year, and have endured the winter months of rain, snow, sleet and ice, we are all eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring. But before that happens, we must direct our attention to a few key focal points. One of the most important items this quarter is the quickly approaching Ohio Graduation Test (OGT). The OGT is scheduled during the week of March 14, 2011. Please note that this year there is a major change in our testing schedule (please go to page 2 in this newslet- ter for the schedule of March 14th-March 18th). Students will now test in the morning as opposed to the afternoon, and those students not testing will report to school at 10:15 a.m. and remain until dismissal at 2:11 p.m. Busses will run on normal schedule; therefore, if your stu- dent does not have any other means of transportation, he/she will need to arrive to school at the normal time and we will have academically related activities for him/her during the testing win- dow. PLEASE NOTE: It is absolutely critical for each and every sophomore to be pre- sent every day for their OGTs. To ensure attendance, incentive drawings will happen each day for all students who attend the exam and a special drawing will occur on Friday of exam week for those students who attend all five days. In addition, all sophomores have the opportunity to be exempt from final exams if they score a proficient ranking or higher as well as maintain a clean discipline record during the second semester. Juniors and Seniors who still need to pass must report to school at the same time as all sopho- mores. Their attendance is vital for completing their requirements for graduation. Seniors, this is a state mandate and failure to pass all five sections of the OGTs will keep you from graduating in the spring! In addition, I would like to take this opportunity to recognize and acknowledge some of our Westerville North Warriors. I would like to wish our winter sports teams much success going into their tournament seasons. Our Mock Trial team will once again be competing for state rec- ognition. Various students in band and orchestra earned high honors in a recent competition. Finally, starting March 3rd—March 6th our Theatre Department will be performing the Broad- way Musical, Hairspray. Please take time to come out and support all of our Warriors! In closing, please read the information contained herein as it is designed to help ensure the suc- cess of everyone in our learning community and always remember that One Student Body, One Vision and One Warrior Family working together will equal many successes!
