12th Man may bat, bowl or wicket keep only13th Man fields only (will be rotated)
Games 2 – 6 TBD (batting order and main bowlers)
• Rotation players are our bottom aged boys who have been selected for development reasons to give them experience ahead of next years Mitchell Shield/Josh Browne squads. These players will be automatically invited to try out for next years U12 squads. For this season’s carnival the intention is to rotate these players for 12th and 13th man – subject to change at the coach’s discretion.
• 12th man’s role will be nominated on game day.• 12th and 13th man for games 2-6 will be advised via email and website the day before each game.• Team Photo’s will be taken during the first drinks break of Game 1. All players must be present in their Rep whites.• Not all players will bowl at each match. The main bowlers will also be nominated before each game.• The batting order (game 1 listed above) may change and will be confirmed each game day.
Congratulations on your son making the WRJCA Under 12’s Josh Browne Representative Team. As you may be aware the carnival runs between the 7th of January 2013 – 20th January 2013. The last week of the tournament may end earlier as this all depends on where the boys finish in qualifying rounds. Important information to know:
• Your son has been selected to play because he is amongst the most talented crickets in the region and the cricket played is much higher than you typically see each week at club level. Now that your son’s talent has been recognised, you are likely to find yourself amongst the same group of parents in the future. So I encourage you all to get behind the carnival, meet and greet other parents and support the coach and entire team as well as helping out whenever you can.
• Our home games will be played Balmoral Park, Windsor Boulevard, Derrimut and away games around metropolitan Melbourne. Carnival Maps and Ground locations are included in this information pack. Two official Umpires will be provided for each game.
• Games start at 10am each day and consist of 40 overs per side (i.e. 80 overs per day). Players are required at the ground 45 mins prior to the start time. The schedule, start time or number of overs may change due to weather (e.g. heat rule or rain). Any changes will be communicated via sms and email.
• All families are required to cater for home games (note the home side caters for both teams, umpires and parents – so please make sure you cater your share for 25 people – refer Parent/Catering Schedule). Also, could all families please supply one 2ltr bottle of refreshment for the lunch break. Please consider the weather and if it’s going to be hot, please keep your food cool in your own esky up until the lunch break.
• All families are required to score at least 20 overs (i.e. half of one innings) during the carnival (refer Parent/Catering Schedule). You will be surprised how easy it is (assistance can be provided), how quickly 20 overs goes when you are scoring, and how rewarding it can knowing you did your bit for the running of the team. So give it a go.
• If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact Alex (Alby) or myself.

Grand Finals Sun 20/1/13
As you can see I’ve allocated each family at least 1 spell of scoring (20 overs). IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING YOUR AVAILABILITY FOR SCORING:• If you don’t know how to score, don’t worry either myself or another parent will assist you.• If you simply don’t want to score because … well… you just don’t want to … step up, pull your head in and contribute! It’s for your child.• If there are other reasons why you simply can’t score, then find another family member to take your spot… or come and see me.
