Shabbat Afternoon Series: "Scandals in Tanach!" Everyone loves a
good scandal! Over the next three months, Rabbi Strulowitz's
pre-Mincha Shiur will analyze some of the seediest scandals in
Tanach. The class will cover Lot and his daughters, Yehuda and
Tamar, David and Batsheva, Amnon and Tamar and much more. Upcoming

whole new light. Wednesday Talmud Shiur: Uncovering the Halachic
Process October 23, 8:30pm "Is Nolad a Form of Muktzah?" The Iyun
Talmud Shiur has a brand new twist! The Shiur, currently learning
Masechet Beitzah, comprises an in-depth Gemara Shiur as well as a
study of the development of Halacha. Join Rabbi Strulowitz and the
Shiur as we learn the Gemaras and Rishonim b'Iyun and then explore
how the halacha stems from the disputes among the Rishonim. Beitzah
has a number of interesting and far-reaching topics such as Nolad,
Muktzah, Yom Tov Sheni, Eruv Tavshilin, Hilchos Yom Tov and much
more.
Shir Fun at WSIS! Fridays, October 18 - December 13, 10:00am
Join us for this celebrated Hebrew music program, which was voted
#1 music class in NYC by 212baby and has been written about in
magazines all over the U.S. and Israel. Shir Fun uses both
traditional and original Hebrew music in a very interactive and
special way focusing on each child's individuality. Enjoyed and
celebrated by thousands of families, Shir Fun infuses musical and

October 27, for students grades 4 & 5 Join WSIS for this
amazing new art program! Taught by instructors from NYC's #1 rated
art studio, The Art Studio in NY, this eight-week course is the
only one of its kind on the Upper West Side. Children will nurture
their creative spirit, learn a variety of techniques including
shading, texture, and perspective, all through the lens of Judaism
at West Side Institutional Synagogue in a small, tailor-made
