• The University currently sponsors 3 UTCs:
- Black Country Engineering UTC (opened Sept 2011)
For Sept 2015:
- West Midlands Construction UTC (WMCUTC)
- Health Futures UTC

• UoW co-sponsors with Walsall College and CITB
• High level of employer engagement
• University integrally involved with curriculum development:
- construction/built environment
- ICT/Computing
• University guarantees place on degree programmes for given levels of achievement
Virtuous Circle: Real Commitment
• Supporting a UTC is not a trivial task and represents a significant investment on the part of the University (and Academic Faculty involved)
• To be successful, a fully costed project plan should be defined and appropriate budgets allocated to faculties and service departments.
• BEWARE of potential (?) gap between the logistical and financial commitments made during the bid process and the resources and budgets allocated for the development process.
