West Dunbartonshire High Schools Stroke Play Golf Championship

CONDITIONS (a) The championship is open to school pupils aged 14-18yrs with a golf handicap who

attended school in West Dunbartonshire Council in academic year 2012-13.(b) The championship shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved

by R&A Rules Limited . It shall comprise 18 holes of stroke play over one day. (c) The competition will be under the charge of Active Schools West Dunbartonshire

Leisure, to whom all disputes will be referred and whose decision shall be final. Active Schools reserve the right to amend the conditions of the championship.

(d) The winner of the championship shall be the competitor who returns the lowest gross score over 18 holes and shall be the West Dunbartonshire High Schools Golf Champion for the year. The trophy shall be held by the club from which he/she entered. It is the responsibility of the champion to ensure that the trophy is returned to Active Schools at least 6 weeks prior to the next championship, however Active Schools have the right to request the return of the trophy at any time.

(e) In the event of a tie, the Championship shall be decided by a hole by hole play-off which shall take place immediately. In the event of a tie for 2nd place, the count-out formula will be applied and a runner-up prize will be presented. The count-out formula will comprise the lowest 9 holes of the full round, and if still a tie, the lowest 6 holes, 3 holes or final hole if still tied. If still a tie, hole by hole match play using the scores for each hole.

(f) The 12 competitors returning the lowest gross scores over 18 holes will be invited to form the West Dunbartonshire Team who will contest the inaugural Charlie Green Trophy, a Ryder Cup style match against an equivalent team from East Dunbartonshire. The Charlie Green Trophy will be held at Dumbarton Golf Club on Sunday 15 September 2013. Competitors who qualify will be provided more information about this event on the day of the stroke play championship.

(g) Withdrawals will not be accepted at any time unless confirmed by email, fax or letter. (h) Caddies are permitted at the stroke play championship and players qualifying for the

Charlie Green Trophy match will be encouraged to bring a caddy for that team event.

(i) Competitors will be expected to maintain a reasonable pace of play at all times. A copy of the full pace of play conditions will be posted at the championship and will be available on request.

(j) Still and video photography may be taken for promotional purposes. If you have any objections to you/your child being photographed or filmed, please put this in writing to Active Schools, West Dunbartonshire Leisure.

(k) Entrants will be notified of their tee time prior to the event. (l) Competitors are required to register a minimum of 30 minutes on the day prior to their

first tee off time at the registration desk.(m) A short prizegiving ceremony will take place at the end of the day’s competition and

all competitors are encouraged to attend. (n) By entering this competition, you agree to the above conditions.
