Introduction & PhilosophyThe West Chicago Park District’s Keppler Academy Preschool focuses on the developmental needs of children from three to five years old. Keppler Academy is designed to give children the tools and experiences necessary to assure a positive transition to kindergarten. Our program offers a warm, nurturing, and friendly environment where children can explore, create, and flourish. Socialization skills and independence are developed through a variety of daily skills and exercises.

Our philospophy is that all children learn through hands-on experiences, exploration, and positive interactions with others. Every child is unique and will develop at their own pace. We foster an environment that will help all children succeed emotionally, physically, and socially. Every child has their own learning style and we give many options to explore and build on those abilities. (GR)

Registration, Payment & Additional InformationRegistration now being accepted for the 2016-17 school year. Children must be age appropriate for program by September 1, 2016.

There is a $50 fee per child due at the time of registration to secure your child’s place in the program. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Take advantage of our convenient monthly EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) payment plan where payments are automatically withdrawn from your credit or debit card on the first of the month (September through May). All yearly fees must be paid in full at time of registration.

Keppler Academy is located at 161 W. National Street in West Chicago. Keppler Academy follows District 33’s days off school calendar.

Off 2 School This program focuses on preschool preparedness skills such as walking in a line, taking turns, listening, circle time, following directions, sharing and participating in clean-up time. Emphasis is placed on socialization skills as well as building self-confidence and self-esteem. Students do not need to be potty trained, but parents must be available to come back to the ARC center in case of an accident. (GR)

Yin YogaEnjoy the healing benefits of Yin Yoga for both the mind and the body. This style of yoga is a more meditative approach with a physical focus that goes much deeper to access the deep connective tissues within the body that encompass a joint, such as the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Yin Yoga postures are done mainly on the floor, and are unique in that you are asked to relax in the posture, soften the muscles and focus on the breath as you hold each posture for several minutes. As one ages, flexibility in the joints decreases, and Yin Yoga is a wonderful way to maintain that flexibility and live a healthy way of life. (BK)

FITNESS

I have been taking Yoga with Dee Ann Carlson, Body Sculpt & Flexibility with Janet Wolf and Tai Chi

with Gil Hernandez for just over four years.

What a great combination of exercises to both strengthen my body and to rejuvenate my spirit.

I now take Dee’s Yoga class twice a week and keep working out with Janet and learning from Gil. I have lost weight, toned up, have better balance and feel younger than where I was five years ago.

The ARC Center is a great place for anyone and everyone to utilize as part of the Healthy West Chicago

initiative for their overall individual improvement.

“The last time I decided to try a trainer, I felt like the skinny kid in over-sized gym shorts who was always chosen last in P.E. at school. Working with Grant has been much different. Now, I want to come to the gym. I also notice that I am getting stronger, gaining muscle mass and self-confidence. Grant is easy to work with, holds me accountable to my goals and believes in me—even when I do not. I would highly recommend that if you are considering a trainer to consider Grant Luther. You’ll be a believer too!”
