Agriculture is also a dominate industry

About 60% of African workers are hired by the agricultural sector

The mineral industry is also an important source of export earnings for many African nations

West Africa’s climatic zones fall into three broad categories:

Humid eqautorial (tropical rain forest climate)

Dry (Desert)

and humid temperate (humid subtropical)

West Africa makes up about 1/5 of Africa

Major rivers in West Africa are…

The Senegal,

Benue,

Volta

and the Niger river

The Niger river covers appoximately 7.5% of West Africa
