The new stadium has a seated capacity of 90,000, making it Europe’s second largest sports stadium. Wembley is not only a football stadium, it is also the Head Office for the English FA and other leading sports bodies plus a busy conference and events venue. Wembley Stadium is also the daily workplace for over 650 people. Wembley Stadium is of course cleaned every day by the CE Cleaning team, not just on match days or when hosting a concert or special event. CE Cleaning is responsible for the cleaning of all areas in the stadium which includes: • We clean 54km of seating after every event • 90,000 seats in the bowl • All on site offices • The Royal Box • 161 hospitality boxes • Press lounges and presentation rooms • Public concourses and bars • Players dressing rooms • We service 2,618 toilets • In 2013 we hosted £2.8m guests at 31 events • Up to 20 visitor stadium tours a day • Wembley cleaning team shortlisted for the BICSc Award for Excellence in Training and Assessment within an Accredited Training Organisation at the prestigious BICSc Annual Awards 2014

A SECURE WORKING PARTNERSHIPInevitably, access to Wembley Stadium requires all staff
to be subject to rigorious security vetting before they
gain full access to the stadium.
Staff employed by CE Cleaning are required to sign a
confidentiality agreement as part of their induction
training.ParticularareasoftheStadium,suchasthe
RoyalBoxandsomebackstageareasaredeemed
as requiring high security and only staff who have
been employed by CE Cleaning at Wembley for an
extendedperiodandhaveexperienceintheseareasare
scheduled to work.

MAKING WEMBLEY A SAFER PLACE FOR VISITORSWhen we launched our partnership with Wembley Stadium they
surface when applied to both indoor and outdoor surfaces.
After the application of the resin, the floors of the stadium
were slip, scratch and stain resistant, which subsequently led
to a significant reduction in slips, trips and fall claims against
Wembley, and also made the floors easier to keep clean.
WEMBLEY PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT The second concern was the size of the stadium’s carbon footprint and impact on the local environment. To address this concern CE Cleaning created a “Wembley Green Team” responsible for reducing the environmental impact from the stadium.
CE Cleaning staff include environmental patrols in our daily scope of work which includes switching off unused equipment and lights, reporting unnecessary air conditioning to the building services team and encouraging and educating the building’s occupants to be environmentally aware. By introducing these measures, we contributed to reducing the stadiums carbon emissions and the environmental patrol is now a vital part of the team’s daily routine.
