How it works

It all starts with a bike, set up on a

stationary wind trainer within the

office.

The Tour de Office bike app collects rider's

distance data from the bike.

The whole event is streamed

via webcam so supporters can

watch the riders.

Each participating company has a

custom-built webpage on the event website.

All riders can create a rider profile

through the site and collect donations.

Each organisation’s

webcam footage and data from the bike is displayed in

real time.

Total funds raised, total distances

and the rider leaderboard are all

Event HighlightsIn 2016, over 1000 riders from 19 organisations rode over 13,000kms and raised $228,000 for Australian charities.

Tour de Office has attracted media attention from Channel 9, Hit105, local and regional press and ABC radio/news.

Radio celebrities Stav and Abby and the whole crew at Hit105 rode a dual bike challenge in support of Ronald McDonald House at their studios in Brisbane in 2016.

Phil Anderson, a former Australian professional racing cyclist who was the first non-European to wear the yellow jersey of the Tour de France cycled a leg of the relay for Team Coronis.

Tour de Office was invited to showcase the event at the 2015 APCC Cycling Congress, appearing on stage alongside the likes of Robbie McEwen, triple winner of the Tour de France’s green jersey and three times Australian cyclist of the year.

Testimonials

“Coronis is fundamentally a healthy, active workplace which is why Tour De Office is such a perfect fit for our culture. We love taking everything we do to the next level which is why we host the event out the front of our headquarters, dress up, promote it on social media and run competitions. It all benefits our chosen charity in the end so we like to have some fun with it!”

Deb Hawes, Events CoordinatorCoronis Lutwyche

“I would definitely recommend Tour de Office to other TAFEs, universities and any organisation with large departments. Participating in this event helped to break down departmental barriers and enabled staff from around campus to engage with one another in a fun way. It brought staff together across the Institute and created a really positive atmosphere.”

Merial Trounce, Human ResourcesWodonga TAFE

“Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland have participated in the last two Tour de Office events. Through McDonald’s Queensland we were able to raise $12,500 in 2015 and $25,000 in 2016. We are proud to have increased our awareness and funding as part of this event and thank the team from Tour de Office for supporting us throughout our journey. We look forward to another successful event next year.”
