Don’t be nervous though, we have 7000 new students starting this September, all in the same boat as you. So what better way to get to know everybody than having a few drinks a good laugh and more importantly having a massive week long PARTY!

COUNT ME IN, WHAT DO I DO?Although we have 7000 new students rocking up in September, we only have space in the building for 2500. Now you don’t have to be an Einstein to fi gure that we can’t fi t everyone in, as much as we would love to!

So, to make sure you are not left at home, whilst all your new fl atmates are off partying you have TO BUY A WELCOME PASS NOW! It’s the only way to guarantee entry to all the events!

The Welcome Pass is legendary at NSU. It is the most important pass you will get until you pass your degree (fi ngers crossed!). Last year we sold out before it even kicked off, so make sure you are one of the 2500 people ‘AVIN IT LARGE!

Not only is Welcome Week the best way for you to meet and socialise with the people you will spend the best years of your life with; it also gives you guaranteed access to a week worth of monumental events. You will have the chance to see the likes of Pendulum, Professor Green, Zane Lowe and a whole host of other stars up close and personal in YOUR brand new £7 million Students’ Union.

Once you have your pass the only cash you will need is your beer money! And even if that blurs your memory a little, it is still sure to be a week you will never forget.

A party this huge is priceless, but because we know you are going to be strapped for cash, we’ll swap you a Welcome Pass in exchange for £50, bargain!

Monday 20th SeptPOKER TOURNAMENTAt NSU we love Poker, that’s why we hold our fortnightly Poker School on a Monday, normally it’s £5 in and the winner takes the pot, but with your Welcome Pass we will let you play for free, and still have a shot at the £200 cash prize! If you have been to a festival this summer you have probably come across one, if not it works like this; Take a room full of clubbers, arm them with a set of wireless headphones, have 2 separate DJ’s broadcasting live over 2 channels and watch the utterly surreal spectacle that unfolds. It must be seen to be believed but beware; you may just get caught out pretending to know the words to your favourite songs!

Tuesday 21st SeptROLLER DISCOThey don’t do club nights like this anymore, except at Northumbria! Get your skates on and roller round our rink to the best disco anthems on the planet. You can wear what you like, though we do love it when you dress up. 70s/80s gear, abstract, character, it all adds fun to the night out (you may even win a prize!). All abilities welcome!
