ReadingReadingReadingReading
Your child will learn how to retrieve and infer from a text during Guided Reading sessions in class.
These are skills which will then be practised at home. We want the children to enjoy reading and to share
books with you!
The children should record that they have read every day by writing the pages and a short comment. If the children are regularly not reading at home and
completing their home reader record we will contact you to ensure that you are made aware of this.
There is a lunch time reading club that year 5 children can attend- run by the teaching assistants.

The children will visit the library at least once a week.
They are issued 2 library books at a time and they can return them once they have
completed them. They will then take AR quizzes after reading their books. These are really fun and the children can become very competitive!
