The issuance of a visa is a discretionary act of the Republic of Brazil. Since

this is a purely discretionary act, there can be no guarantees regardless of the circumstances presented. A visa can be granted, denied, extended or

changed according to national interests, even if it is a visa previously authorized. A visa is not a right in itself, but an expectation to be admitted.

Whenever there is a doubt on the purpose of the trip; the identity of the

applicant; the applicant is aggressive or disrespectful with the Consular

officers, the visa can be denied. We also may require an interview and

request additional documents or information.

Although you may submit your application by post service or courier, the Embassy reserves the right to require the applicant to collect her/his

passport in person at the Embassy whenever it judges necessary.

*Swedish citizens DO NOT need visa to visit Brazil for tourism and business trips (meetings/conferences) up

to 90 days.

*All nationalities need a work visa to work in Brazil.

*TRANSIT VISA (VITRA) Applicable in the following situations:

The transit visa (VITRA) will be granted to foreigners who have to enter national territory to reach the destination country. VITRA will not be required

from foreigners on continuous travel who have to make stopovers or connections in Brazil, as long as they remain in the international transit area

of Brazilian airports.

*VISIT VISA EXEMPTION Nationals of Australia, Canada, Japan and the United States of America are

exempt of Visit Visas (VIVIS - Tourism / Business) since June 17, 2019. Stays in Brazil are allowed for up to 90 days, extendable for the same

period, provided that the visitor does not exceed 180 days of stay in the Brazilian territory every 12 months, counting from the date of the first entry.

INFORMATIONS ON HOW TO APPLY FOR A VISA IN OUR SYSTEM

* After applying online, the original documents must be sent to the Embassy.

* The Consular Section does not provide express visa services. * Incomplete applications will NOT be accepted

* Visa issuance takes a MINIMUM of 10 working days.

the photo has to be the same you attached to the form;

after applying online, print out the application, glue your photo at the delivery receipt and sign the form in the appropriate field, leave your

telephone number for contact; deliver the complete documentation in paper to the Consulate during

our opening hours (Mon-Fri, 09h00 to 12h30): the passport, the uploaded documents and the printout of the

payment receipt of the consular fee. It is not necessary to book an appointment to hand in a visa

application, between 09h00 and 12h30. we can receive all Visa applications by third parties, courrier or by

regular post (only registered letter).

- TOURISM (VIVIS)

Proof of Finance: Bank statement; saving statement or credit card

statement of the last three months. If someone else will be financing your trip, we need proof of finance and a letter of consent from this

person. Signed employment Letter stating the type of contract, how long

you have been employed. Receipt of the payment of the consular fee to BG 5662-5825

Invitation Letter if you will visit a friend in Brazil: He/she needs to send you an invitation letter duly recognized by a notary public in

Brazil (“Cartório”), confirming invitation, adress and lengh of staying. Copy of your friend document as passport or Brazilian ID, address

confirmation can be copy of the eletricity invoice.

- TOURISM (VIVIS) FOR ALIEN´S PASSPORT / STATELESS / NON-EUROPEAN

Your visa request will have to go through a Consultation in Brazil. It might

take minimum 30 days to issue the visa. Please follow the instructions below:

- RESEARCHER VISA (VIVIS) UNDER 90 DAYS IN BRAZIL

For research studies under 90 days, the Swedish researchers and other

European nationals can travel to Brazil with VIVIS, it means no need of visa. The passport will be stamped at the Brazilian airport.

Letter from the Swedish university confirming the student´s enrollment at the university and the internship in Brazil.

Letter of acceptance as an intern from a Brazilian company providing the date and lengh of the internship, and if the student will

get any subsistence allowance. Internship commitment term (Termo de compromisso de estágio)

signed by the company in Brazil, Swedish University and Intern. Proof of finance: scholarship, CSN or adequate private financial

resources for his/her maintenance in Brazil. Receipt of the payment of the consular fee (SEK 1100)

- INTERCHANGE STUDENTS (VITEM IV)

resources for his/her maintenance in Brazil. It is illegal for the holder of a student visa to work in Brazil

For studies under 90 days, the Swedish students and other European

nationals can travel to Brazil with VIVIS, it means no need of student visa. The passport will be stamped at the Brazilian airport.

- HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS under 18 (VITEM I) EXAMPLE: ROTARY CLUB

Health ensurance for the period of staying in Brazil. International vaccination card proving that the applicant has taken

yellow fever vaccin. Copy of the educational exchange program’s act of establishment.

CNPJ of the Brazilian School.

Notarized letter from the Brazilian school stating that the applicant is duly registered, lengh of staying.

Notarized letter from the Exchange Programe Instituition stating where the student will study, lengh of staying, and that the instituition

will take full responsibility for the student´s maintenance and return trip from Brazi.

Notarized letter of the host family in Brazil. Receipt of the payment of the consular fee (SEK 1100)

- VISA FOR STUDENT OF PORTUGUESE COURSES (VITEM IV)

signed and stamped by Skattemyndigheten. If you are not born in Sweden, you need to arrange a birth

certificate with parents name on, from your home country, in English Certificate of Non-Criminal Record, issued by the Swedish Police to

be obtained at www.polisen.se (register utdrag ur belastningsregistret för utlandsändamål). This document is valid for 90 days from the date

of issue. IMPORTANT: if you have lived in Sweden for less than 5 years, we

also require the criminal records from your home country. Receipt of the payment fee, SEK 1100, to the BG 5662-5825.

It takes about 10 working days to issue the visa from the day the application has arrived at the Embassy.

FAMILY REUNION VISA (VISA XI)

It takes a minimum of 30 days to issue this type of visa.

Visas issued by Brazilian Embassies have to be registered at the Federal Police in Brazil to be able to get a RNE.

FROM THE BRAZILIAN CITIZEN:

Brazilian passport, CPF and RG Brazilian marriage certificate issued by a Brazilian authority

Statement in Portuguese assuming responsibility for the applicant’s maintenance in Brazil. This document must be signed by the Brazilian

citizen at the consular, or at a "cartório" in Brazil or at a "Notarius

Publicus" in Sweden: Termo de Responsabilidade e Manutenção. Copy of bank transaction for the last 2 months (It´s necessary to

check the economic life situation, and wont influence the issue of the visa)

be obtained at www.polisen.se (register utdrag ur belastningsregistret för utlandsändamål). This document is valid for 90 days from the date

of issue. IMPORTANT: if you have lived in Sweden for less than 5 years, we also

require the criminal records from the country where you lived before. Letter from the company proving the status of digital nomad in

Brazil. Declaration from the company proving monthly wage while the

didital nomad is in Brazil, accompanied by the three last months of bank transactions.

Health insurance that covers the whole stay in Brazil

Receipt of the payment fee, SEK 1100, to the BG 5662-5825 /paymet at the Embassy.

It may take about 15 working days, from the day the application has arrived at the Embassy, to be analyzed.

complementary pension from other providers ( You can also use income from renting of a house for example)
