He recently completed his service as the dean of faculty at the U.S. Air Force Academy. With more than 30 years on active duty and 20 years at the Academy, he served in the rank of brigadier general as the chief academic officer for this nationally ranked institution. Then, hear why head football coach, Kyle “Bubba” Schweigert, thinks UND is the right place for you. He’ll share his best “coaching tips” to help you be successful as you begin to make your impact on the world at UND. Katherine DachtlerKatherine Dachtler is employed at the University of North Dakota and resides in Grand Forks with her family. She believes in the power of engagement and enjoys volunteering for various organizations and nonprofits within the community.
She received her bachelor’s degree in general studies from UND along with minors in communication and nonprofit leadership, as well as a diversity & inclusion certificate. She is currently pursuing her master’s of social work at UND and also is serving as Ward 2 representative on the Grand Forks City Council.

Mini Academic Sessions Student groups will be escorted from the Chester Fritz Auditorium to various campus locations.
You’ll have the opportunity to participate in mini academic sessions and hands-on learning activities with UND professors and/or students. This is your chance to get a sneak peek of what it’s like to be a UND student and learn from experts who are passionate about what they teach!
Student Life & Experience Panel Chester Fritz Auditorium (Map F-6)When it comes to what it’s like to be a student here, no one can explain it better than current UND students. They’ve been in your shoes, and they’ll share with you everything you want to know – what it’s like to move away from home, life in the residence halls, how to make friends, the best study spots and their favorite professors.
