Set within 14 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and woodland on the edge of the Trough of Bowland, Salus Withnell Hall provides an
environment perfectly suited to recovery – offering time for reflection, and the opportunity to refocus and rebuild your life.
A flexible, person-centred approach allows our dedicated and highly experienced staff team to tailor programmes to the needs of the individual – addressing physical, mental and social needs in a safe and supportive environment. Leading medically-managed detoxAssisted withdrawal from substances to help each resident begin their own journey of recovery
At Salus Withnell Hall, our in-depth and comprehensive assessment process ensures safe and comfortable detoxification from a wide range of
substances. Salus medical and nursing staff are highly experienced in managing symptoms of withdrawal, following medical protocols and procedures developed over many years at the highly regarded Hafan Wen unit, based at Wrexham’s Maelor Hospital.
Our integrated care approach includes full medical screening on admission, and the development of an individual care plan to address wider issues during rehabilitation, in
recovery, and on an ongoing basis. All our prescribing is governed by relevant clinical guidelines and associated legislation.
We seek to address the underlying causes of addiction throughout our programme, enabling residents to
develop new coping strategies, manage cravings, and confront individual psychological and emotional needs. An extensive range of therapeutic interventions facilitates this process of change, helping to build resilience and empowering residents as they work to regain confidence and self-esteem.

Personal support to help you grow Salus in partnership withResidential addiction services
Solution-focused rehabilitationUnderstand and take reponsibility for recovery with tailored support to face the causes and consequences of addiction
During their stay at Salus, our rehab residents receive personalised support to help understand and respond to the many issues they face
while addressing the causes and consequences of addiction. Each client is allocated his or her own care coordinator, who will encourage the individual to be actively involved in setting their own programme, and to take responsibility for their own recovery.
Residents are expected to develop positive and pro-active new relationships with their peers, and to explore activities in the wider community. Our staged programme includes
sessions dedicated to understanding addiction, supporting recovery, recreational health and wellbeing, and trauma – with maximum flexibility according to need.
Experienced and professional staff work with our clients to promote self-help, mutual support, health and
wellbeing in a safe, enabling, and therapeutic environment. We also address any other key issues, including common low-level mental health needs like anxiety and depression, in our care planning, drawing on additional external support where required.

A comprehensive, partnership approachSingle-site detox and rehab, providing a complete care pathway with the support of community services
Transition between detoxification, rehabilitation and community provision can prove difficult for the people we work with. So, by bringing
together all three services on a single site – under the supervision of an experienced and integrated team of recovery-focused professionals – the Salus partnership provides the best possible chance to sustain recovery.
Together, we work hard to ensure the best results for our residents. Our combined detox and rehab package means residents can navigate seamlessly through each step of their recovery journey. Bringing together our
clinical and therapeutic teams also ensures full continuity of care throughout each resident’s stay.
We know recovery doesn’t stop when a resident leaves Salus – so we provide ongoing care and support, in
partnership with community services. We also offer a wide range of opportunities to build skills and recovery capital through volunteering at our on-site social enterprise, aftercare planning with appropriate move-on support, and the chance to join our growing alumni group.
