Class allocation : • 5 Mixed Ability Form Classes for 1st Year

• Form Classes are based on Subject choice and information from

Primary Schools.

Number of classes per week:

• Maths, English and Irish – max 5 periods per week.

• All others get 3 or 4 periods – mixture of double and single periods

• Wellbeing; PE – 2 periods (1 double) + CSPE and SPHE – 1 period each

along with Tutorial time.

Punctuality

School day:

8:30am Students can enter the school building.

8:40am Students need to be in school to organise their

books and locker.

8:52am Students go to Form Teacher for registration.

9:00am Students go to first class.

If you arrive after 8:52am you are late for school. You wont have time to go to your

locker and get your books and get organised for the day ahead.

It is also important to be on time to all your classes for the day.

Attendance:

Why is attendance important?

If your not in the class then we cant teach you.

You will miss out on important lessons

You will have to catch up on missed work.

You might miss out on work needed for your CBA’s

You will fall behind on any project work you are involved in.

The school monitors attendance and we must report student absences to

TUSLA (You don’t want this to happen)

• Bullying/Anti Bullying Policy: • Belonging Plus Transition Programme:

• Includes presentations on Anti-Bullying to educate all students.

• Any form of Bullying: verbal, physical, psychological, cyber is not

acceptable.

• Students - Very important to bring bullying incidents to our attention; • Talk to Ceangail member, Form Teacher, Subject teacher

• Parents: Need to alert school if you notice change of mood or

anxiety over coming to school.

• We deal with it very strictly but we need to know its going on immediately.

• Booklist posted on website www.salesianscelbridge.com at beginning of June.

• Contains all book and materials needed for the year.

• It will highlight important dates such as 1st yr Parent/Teacher and School Planning Meetings.

• School Uniform:

• School jumper & tie, grey shirt, grey trousers and black polishable uniform shoes

• Ensure are items are labelled with your name.

• Responsibility of Property: • Schoolbags, PE bags, school equipment, lunch boxes,

water bottles – label everything.

• Jackets/Uniforms getting mixed up after PE and Sports – label everything.

• Bicycles need to be locked.

• Mobile phone – not allowed in school

• Not allowed to have a mobile phone turned on in your possession in school from 8:30am to 6:15pm.

• If really necessary to bring to school, should be turned off and stored securely in lockers.

• Opportunity to study after school for 2 hours each evening.
