Beqa Lagoon Resort is an intimate resort
featuring 25 Fijian style villas, called bures.
These comfortable traditional structures
are all air conditioned and offer a full
range of accommodations.
Enjoy sweeping ocean views from one of
the resort’s beachfront bures. Each with its
own private sundeck, cool dipping pool,
and dreamy hammock.
One special beachfront location is
reserved for honeymooners only. This
exceptional spot offers newlyweds the

family-style bures, with two bedrooms and a
spacious dining and living room comfortable
for four. The beachfront lawn is perfect for

Kalou for the casual elegance of open-air

options are also available. LaLa’s mouth-

Dive On In!A short boat ride from the resort brings you
to a wonderland of marine life and some of
the world’s best diving in clear, warm waters.
The many unique dive sites along 190 miles
of coastline provide ample opportunities to
view and photograph a myriad of marine
life. Look for octopus, garden eels, orangutan
crabs, rays, numerous �sh species and huge
fans or tickle your imagination by exploring
shipwrecks of days gone by.
Fiji, known as the Soft Coral Capital of the
World, offers spectacular undersea gardens
in all hues. View these wonders guided by
PADI dive masters who have been exploring
the Beqa Lagoon since they were children.
Dive depths range from 60-90 ft. with visibility
up to 100 ft. The currents are generally mild
and the water temperature stays a fairly
constant 80 degrees.
The resort has a full-service PADI dive
operation on-site and NITROX is now avail-
able. With a complete range of scuba
classes to choose from, you don’t have to
be an experienced diver to enjoy the magical
undersea attractions. Kids can also partici-
pate in the excitement of diving with our
fun Bubblemaker program.
For thrill seekers, there’s nothing like Beqa’s
Famous Shark and Big Fish Encounter.
This shark dive and marine reserve began
as a way to educate divers and aid in the
conservation of sharks. It has quickly
become the #1 shark dive in the world.
Diving Shark Reef, a remote and protected
area, offers you a close up look at a range
of pelagic �sh and the opportunity to
encounter eight incredible shark species
including 15 ft. tiger sharks. Your adventure
with sharks will be documented on a DVD
that you may want to take home as a
souvenir to share with your friends.

The Lali Spa After a morning of unforgettable diving,
pamper yourself with a massage in the
open-air Lali Spa. Lulled by the surf and
cool sea breezes, feel your cares evaporate
as strong Fijian hands smooth away any

products that nourish your skin with coconut
oil, �ower extracts, and natural sugar.
Surrounded by lush tropical vegetation,

sacred �re walking ceremony as village
warriors in traditional dress chant and walk
across scalding stones, as they have done
for over 300 years. This mysterious ritual
originated on Beqa Island and was even the
subject of a National Geographic documen-
tary �lmed at the resort.
In the evenings, the air �lls with the sounds
of Meke, a lively Fijian tradition of dancing
and singing. You’ll surely get into the spirit
of the island as you clap along with the
warm and friendly Fijians. You can also sit
side by side with them as you participate in
the famous kava ceremony by sipping a

Beqa Lagoon Resort is a proud extension
of its neighboring villages and strives to
foster community development. In addition
to purchasing many local products, the
resort employs over 75 local villagers who
in turn support nearly 250 friends and
family members. It hosts visiting doctors,
dentists and teachers to help improve the
lives of local islanders. For the past six years,
the resort has worked with Global Class-
rooms for Peace, helping to build two
pre-school classrooms and a computer
room at the main school, as well as provide
ongoing training for school personnel.

more of the lagoon’s warm water, you can
swim, snorkel, or explore by kayak. You
might catch a wave in Frigate Passage, also
called the Fiji Pipeline, where prevailing

Anglers simply must experience the
adrenaline rush of deep sea �shing. Fight a
yellow-�n tuna in June when the water liter-

through August, or barracuda in February.
On land, you can hike to remote, mystical
waterfalls or spot your share of the island’s
many exotic bird species. Beqa Island is a
birders paradise, home to the largest variety
of birdlife in Fiji.
