1. Identify your nominees. Select up to 15 students you wish to nominate to apply to North Carolina Renaissance 2018. You may keep track of your selected students using the list at right. You’ll notify your students yourself, so there is no need to submit your list of your nominees to us. Nominations are used to make sure that the best and brightest from your school applies to NCR. However, students do NOT need to be nominated in order to apply. 2. Notify your nominees. Use the certificate on the following page to notify your nominees. You may type the student’s name, your name, and date using Adobe Reader, or you may hand-write this information. Print the certificate and hand-deliver or email it to your students. Complete this process for each of your nominees (up to 15), reusing the certificate on the second page of this document. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Now that you’ve been nominated, it’s time to apply!

1. Apply Online.Go to the website below to apply for NCR. All applications must be submitted by 11:59pm, January 15, 2018.

http://go.unc.edu/Bf37E2. Submit your official high school transcript. Please ask your counselor to send you a scanned copy of your transcript. You will upload this tran-script to your application form. You may email, mail, or fax your transcript if needed.

WHAT IS NORTH CAROLINA RENAISSANCE?

The North Carolina Renaissance (NCR) program in-vites rising juniors from rural communities for an edu-cational four-day enrichment program. The objective of the program is to inspire high-achieving scholars to pursue their educational aspirations while developing unique leadership skills.

NCR is packed with sessions throughout the four-day program. Students will participate in specially de-signed sessions including leadership and team build-ing, college admissions, financial aid, and community service.

There is a nonrefundable $25 program fee which in-cludes all meals, housing, t-shirt, and program materi-als (does not include travel costs).

DATES AND DEADLINES

The application deadline is January 15, 2018. We encourage you to start early so you’ll have plenty of time to submit a thoughtful application. We plan to notify applicants of a decision by the beginning of March.

North Carolina Renaissance will be held July 18-21, 2018.

If accepted, we encourage you to register early to secure your spot in the program.
