circle the numbers in order again

Teams Introductions!Person 1 introduces Person 2,Person 2 introduces Person 3,Person 3 introduces person 4,Person 4 introduces person 1.Tell us their NAME and ONE
INTERESTING FACT ABOUT THEM!!!!!
Placemat ConsensusSTEPS:• Each team draws a placemat on a poster paper• Topic: Norms for our class• Teammates all respond simultaneously in their
individual space (each person uses a different color)
• Teammate 1 announces 1 item he/she has written
• Teammates discuss the item• If there is consensus that the item is important,
Teammate 1 records his/her best synthesis of the team’s ideas in the center team space, seeking help with wording if necessary
• The process is repeated using RoundRobin; each teammate, in turn, suggests an idea and records the team consensus
A few ideas to consider when writing class norms:
When students shout out answers in math class, the teacher should ___________________________________
When a student walks in late, the teacher should ________________________________
When several students have conversations during class, the teacher should _________________________________________
When working in groups, team members should __________________________________________
What I think about texting or using a cell phone to surf the internet during class is ______________________________________________
We will finish the placemat activity next class!
Algebra Readiness test
• Put answers on answer sheet.• No calculators.• Do your best! You can leave blanks
if you don’t know how to do a problem.
HW #1
• Read the article “There’s one key difference between kids who excel at math and those who don’t”. Write a paragraph for each question below.
• Can math ability change or is it fixed? Explain the point of view expressed in the article.
• Why are math skills important in our country today?• The authors state that “personal perseverance and
effort” are needed for success in math. As a student in Math 112 this semester, what does this mean to you?
Before you leave . . . 1. Turn in readiness test and answer
sheet. 2. Pick up any handouts you didn’t
get
3. Complete the feedback form and turn this in.
