Kittock’s Den is our main lounge bar at Fairmont St Andrews. Kittock’s is named after the valley that runs through our on-site Kittock’s

Golf Course. The meaning behind the word is old Scottish for ‘flighty lady’. Kittock’s Den smugglers hole was where alcohol was spirited in the area

and we are reflecting this heritage in our ‘Spirit of Scotland’ list.

Our lounge features some great Single Malts, Cocktails, and Spirits. We hope that you have a truly wonderful experience during your stay in the

resort. If there is anything that we can help you with from local information to creating your own personal cocktail please feel free to ask.

Kids under 18 are welcomed in Kittock’s Den bar until 7.00 pm when

accompanied by an adult.

The closing time of the bar is at the discretion of the bar team. Last orders will be called 15 minutes prior to closing.

In order to reduce our impact on the environment, we will only serve straws

on request.

SPIRITS OF SCOTLAND

Eden Mill The Eden Mill story started with a mission to revive the lost art of distilling and

brewing in St Andrews. Eden Mill spirit is created in copper pot-stills and exhibits a wide range of flavours from botanicals sourced from the local area.

Original £5.25 Take on a classic London dry, with a St Andrews interpretation. Exhibit flavour of sea buckthorn berries, which grow locally.

Love £5.50 Complex flavour, exhibiting five core botanicals of rose petals, marshmallow root, goji berries and whole hibiscus flowers, the result is light and complex. The gin has sweet, floral, and fruity elements.

Oak £5.50 Sweet vanilla and oak paired with the light juniper. A short aging period is enough to create straw-like colour and oak elements in the flavour, however the goal is to not lose sight of the botanical elements.

Hop £5.50 Gin that is rich in flavour, and also unique in mouth feel. The spirit is more viscous.

Golf £5.50 Botanically rich spirit incorporates botanicals from local grassland and coastal courses around Scotland which gives the gin a unique juniper and floral flavour.

Darnley’s Original Gin £4.75 Darnley’s Original was inspired by elderflower growing wild around the Wemyss family estate in Scotland. Light, floral, citrus flavoured gin in the London Dry style which honours distillers past.

Darnley’s Spiced £4.75 Honouring the Wemyss family’s spirit of adventure. Warming botanicals sourced as far as Africa, Morocco and China. Depth of flavour to create a contemporary gin that is full and rounded.

Darnley’s Spiced - Navy Strength Edition £4.75 Award-winning Spiced Gin was inspired by the illustrious Royal Navy career of ancestor Sir Rosslyn Wemyss, who commanded ships around the world and rose to the rank of Admiral of the fleet. During his time at sea, ships’ officers still enjoyed a daily ration of gin which had to pass a gunpowder test to prove it was over 57% alcohol and therefore Navy Strength.

OBAN

A 14 year old malt combining the sophistication of the Highlands with a touch of the peaty style of the Islands. It is rich and full-bodied with a mellow fruity finish.

GLENKINCHIE

Glenkinchie is a soft, sweetly aromatic malt from the 'Garden of Scotland'. It has a fresh, grassy sweetness balanced with a warming, dryish finish.

CRAGGANMORE

A 12 year old elegant, sophisticated Speyside with the most complex aroma of any malt. Astonishingly fragrant with sweetish notes and a smoky maltiness on the finish.

TALISKER

A 10 year old and the only malt produced on Skye. Its seaweedy, smoky nose and sweet maltiness is perfectly complimented by its spicy, long finish.

DALWHINNIE A 15 year old gentle, delicate malt from the wild and windswept Highlands. It is subtle, smooth delicately smoky malt with a heathery honey finish.

LAGAVULIN A 16 year old and from the Islay region. Gives hints of peat and is very dry on the palate.

Aberlour A’Bunadh – Cask strength £5.50 At a whopping 60% ABV you are going to need a little water in there but the way we see it, that just gives you more time to appreciate this King of Sherry Cask whiskies. Try it, love it, have another. Bowmore 15 £6.75 A 15 year old malt released in January of 2007 from the legendary Bowmore distillery in Islay. This single malt has been matured in Oloroso sherry casks. Auchentoshan 3 Wood - The breakfast whisky £6.00 You would be forgiven for thinking it was a golf reference, but it is rather a rich and unctuous whisky aged in no fewer than three varieties of Oak cask. Raisins, cherries and chocolate abound. Highland Park 18y £14.00 The nose of Highland Park 18 year old displays characteristic toffee sweetness and an almond nuttiness, reminiscent of marzipan. The finish is a prolonged, full, smoky aftertaste. Bunnahabhain 12yr £5.00 Double matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry cask this Islay produced whisky is rich and full-bodied. Achieving the perfect balance of sweet fruit, vanilla, nuts and a delicate coastal influence.
