First 28 days from activation – “trial” period
You are required to choose a pace chart (on Announcement Page of
course) and follow it each week. For this course the slowest Pace that you
can choose is the 6 week Pace.
No penalty/No grade – You may withdraw from the course during the
grace period if you feel the course is not right for you
If you withdraw for any reason, after the grace period, you may
receive an “F” on your high school transcripts for this course. (It is up to
your school whether or not this occurs)
ThDriver Ed is a 6 week class. This is your weekly assignment sheet. You MUST turn in your assignments each week to stay in class. If you want to finish faster please do!

The Gradebook button will allow you to see the following: 1. The date an assignment was submitted and the score. Parents, this
is important because you can see when and how often students are working.
2. How many grade builder points are possible/earned. The more important the assignment, the more grade builder points, the more weight for the final grade.
3. Students, this is where you go to resubmit an assessment. Click on the assignment, read my feedback, make the necessary changes, and resubmit.
•There is a discussion based assessment after Modules 8, it will cover Modules 1-8. •No appointment needed, just call me anytime during my office hours 8am-8pm. If you get my voicemail be sure to leave me a message and I will call you back as soon as I am able!
Unlimited resubmissions on all journals, discussion based assessments, and on your project—you may take each quiz 2 times.
Please note that I cannot reset your quiz… 2 tries is all you will get!

“How to’s” These are the official FLVS “how to’s” so if you are confused by my directions you can check these directions out!
There are 4 kinds of assignments in your Driver Ed Course. It is extremely important that you follow the pace chart and do the assignments in order…if you do all of your quizzes first and don’t do any of your journals you make things MUCH harder for yourself because you will have to go back and reread all of the material to answer your journal questions.
QUIZZES: These are found at the end of each module slide presentation in your Driver Ed Platform, you get 2 tries for each quiz. Quizzes cannot be reset by the instructor, so it is important that you review the material before your 2nd attempt on a quiz. The quiz grades automatically move to your GRADEBOOK link after you take them (allow a few hours for the Platform and your class to communicate and for the grade to move over) there is no need to turn anything in for a quiz.
DISCUSSION BASED ASSIGNMENT: This is a quick quiz (5 minutes) that we complete over the phone. You have one at the end of Module 8 that covers the material in modules 1-8. You don’t need an appointment to complete these, just call me anytime during my office hours (8am to 8pm).
REFLECTION JOURNALS: You turn in 1 reflection journal after every 2 quizzes, I recommend that you have your Journal Questions open on your computer while you read through the modules so that you can answer your questions as you read the course material. You can get the journals by either clicking on the link on the announcements page of the class OR click on Lessons>How to Do the Reflection Journal Activity>the name of the journal. Then copy and paste the questions into a word processor and type your answers into the document, make sure to Save As either an .rtf file or a .doc file if you plan to attach the file. To turn in your journal click the fourth tab down in your left hand tool bar named Gradebook>the assignment name and then either copy and paste your answers into the student comment box or attach your .rtf or .doc file, check that you are requesting grading and click the gray submit button. You can check back in the Gradebook later to see how you did on your assignments, the current percentage is your grade.
MODULE 6 TEEN DRIVING PROJECT: You pick a topic (choices are Cell Phone Use, Teen Crashes, Road Rage, or Drunk Driving) and either (A.) Attend a Live Project Session, you can see when these are offered by checking the calendar on the announcement page OR (B.) completing the project template worksheet making sure to answer each question in 3 to 5 sentences in your own words. You can get the worksheet by either clicking on the link on the announcement page OR clicking Lessons>How to Do the Teen Driving Project>Project Template. Turn in your project by clicking on the Gradebook link and either cutting and pasting the template into the student comment box or attaching the file, if you are attaching a file make sure it is saved as an .rtf file or a .doc file. Note, the template is the only thing that you must complete to earn all of your points—a part II powerpoint or video is optional.

• Your First 2 Assignments are Quiz #1 and Quiz #2 • You will read through Modules 1 and 2, and take the Quizzes in the
Driver Ed Platform. To get to the Platform follow the steps below. You do not need to turn in quizzes—your score will automatically appear in your gradebook 24 hours after you take it
•There is a set of questions for you to fill out
•Complete the reflection journal after EACH Module… but SUBMIT two at a time (1&2, 3&4, 5&6, 7&8, 9&10). You can also get the questions on the Announcements page.
You have two options for completion: 1. Complete the worksheet on your own time (you can find the worksheet on the
Announcement page) OR 2. Attend an Elluminate Session (check the calendar on the announcement page to see when live sessions are being offered)

Click on the Assignment Name. Copy and
paste your saved work into the
“Student Comment Box” Be sure to check the box next to “Submit for grading” and then click the “Submit”
button. You have unlimited submissions for all assignments except for the quizzes (you can take those
two times). If you do not check the “Submit for Grading” button AND “Submit”, your work will not be sent to me.
