Light Steps to Reading1. Self-Paced Phonics Program2. Follow the schedule to be done by the end of the year.3. Your child reads the packet-gets it checked off by an

adult, then gets the next packet.4. There are 11 Packets.5. Big Tip…Be Consistent6. You’ll have an amazing Reader when they are

finished!!

Baggy Books (Starts 8/31)

Children still need real books to foster the love of reading. So…5-8 books will come home on MondaysThey will be exchanged each Monday

Raz-KidsComputer, Self Paced/At Home Reading ProgramStudents can choose to listen, read or record books on their reading level.They retell the story in their own wordsThey take a test on the story they readThey earn stars to buy items for their rocketRaz-Kids, Light Steps, Baggy Books (20 minutes total each night)

Show and TeachInstead of Show and TellEach student will be given 2 dates to presentThey will teach the class how to do somethingUp to 10 minutesWe will start on September 21stWe’ll do it again in JanuaryDon’t make it harder than it is

Each month I will email a monthly newsletter. The newsletter will also be posted on my webpage.If you don’t have email or would like a paper copy, let me know and I will send one home with your child.I have a Webpage.
