Cannabis and Well-Being?

At ReLeaf + Plantacea, our focus ison promoting well-being, which iswhy we're conducting a series ofresearch projects to examine howcannabis, mental health, and well-being intersect. Many cannabis users recognize thepositive impact cannabis use hashad on their well-being, but fewstudies examine the positive effectsof cannabis use.

Well-being integrates mental health(mind) and physical health (body),resulting in more holistic approachesto medical treatment.

Right now, we're conducting a 20-minute survey examining therelationship between cannabis andwell being. Contact to get set up.Completing the survey gets youentered into a raffle for a $300STORE CREDIT!

Why Well-Being?

As countries get richer, people are unhappier.Scientists and policy makers are increasingly calling to focus on understanding well-being. What is well-being and why focus on it? In a recent article in Science, one ofthe most prominent research journals, scientists give explanation (click here for theresearch article or "Read More" below for a description of the article).

“We need to rethink how we think about success in society more generally, so it’s notjust about people’s economic activity,” Laffan says, “but things like socialconnectedness that really matter about how people feel about their lives, that don’tshow up in GDP or any other economic measure.”

FEATURE ARTICLE

In our feature article, Dr. Deb Karhson breaks down arecent journal paper reviewing studies on cannabis andpain.

Pain, Pain, Go Away…Could Cannabis Keep Pain at Bay?Falling somewhere between death and taxes, pain is one of the most inevitablestates of being a human. Globally, pain affects 1 in 5 adults [1], but despite its long-standing history as a high-priority health problem there are few new solutions on thehorizon. However, a first-of-its-kind medical review published last month in JAMAPsychiatry suggests that cannabis, one of the oldest pain-relievers in medical texts, may be an old dog with just the right old tricks.
