The congress is designed for physicians, surgeons, scientists and organ procurement personnel, who are interested in the clinical and research aspects of transplantation with a cutting edge scientific program; pre- congress, post graduate educational courses, plenary sessions, state-of-the art symposia, and keynote lectures. Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia is a wonderful and dynamic city; its modern innovations and natural beauty are well harmonized with historic and cultural heritage. I sincerely look forward to welcoming all of you to this congress. The organizing Committee has made every effort to put together an attractive program, which will refresh your knowledge base and explore the innovations in the transplantation science and have an opportunity to meet the leading experts in the transplantation field. The GCC countries have established organ transplantation programs since the early 1980’s. In addition, their cooperation through the GCC transplantation committee has been active since 1990’s. Organ sharing is a reality among them and are growing steadily, and they have recently accomplished the directory for organ donation and transplantation in them. This prospective second congress for organ transplantation in the GCC countries will be another achievement of the cooperation and a step forward toward better future.
