Sympathy for the family of Don Roberts who joined the Church Triumphant last week.
We welcome everyone including those who are single, married, divorced, crying new-borns, tired parents, and doting grandparents. We welcome those who are “just brows-ing” and those who know every hymn and praise song ever written. We welcome those who think the earth is flat, can’t spell, or because grandma is in town—you wanted to go to church. You have found a perfectly imperfect church filled with perfectly imperfect
people who worship our perfect Lord. First time guests - please pick up a welcome gift at the welcome desk in the lob-by. Once again, welcome!
Pray!
Congratulations to Hannah Hall!
Hannah landed a dance role for off
Broadway performances of Anne of
Green Gables, part 1 and 2. They per-
form at the “Royal Family Performance
Art Theatre in New York City. Hannah
recently graduated with degrees in Dance
and Communications from Marymount
Manhattan College. She was one of our
very own Scholarship recipients while she
was in college.

SERMON NOTES—2/3/19 “THE CROWN OF REJOICING”
1 Thessalonians 2:19 19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?
Neighborly love As an ordained minister, Fred Rogers harnessed the power of television
to tell children they were loved — and to show them how to love others.
In You Are Special, he writes, “When we love a person, we accept him or
her exactly as is: the lovely with the unlovely, the strong along with the
fearful, the true mixed in with the façade, and of course, the only way
we can do it is by accepting ourselves that way.”
In a review of the touching documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor? a
writer for Variety notes: “Rogers’ real secret was … that the call to love
your neighbor as yourself isn’t a slogan to hang in your kitchen with
flowers around it — it’s a decision you make at every moment, to view every man, woman and child on earth as
your neighbor. If you don’t see and feel that, and act on it, then you’re just another narcissist with a kitchen slo-
gan.”
Last October, when a synagogue shooting shattered the peace of Rogers’ real-life former neighborhood, residents
of all religions embraced one another as neighbors. Afterward, the Fred Rogers Center stated, “We long for a day
when there is no more tragedy born from hatred.”

of God” by Priscilla Shirer. Learn
how to recognize when God
speaks. Sign up in the church lobby or call the church
office at 727-868-6178.
Contribution Statements for 2018 have been sent out. Some that were sent via email bounced back as undeliv-erable. If you need a contribution statement and have not received one, please contact Nancy Hitt at the church office.
Starting February 6, 2019, Wednesday’s will be held from 6 to 7pm. The children will enter and exit at the Church Office entrance (door by playground). They will meet their teachers there and be taken to their classrooms.
We encourage the adults to attend Pastor Ice’s bible study held at the same time (6-7pm) in Howard Hall.
If you choose to leave the grounds instead of staying for the adult Bible study, please be back at the Church Office entrance no later than 6:58. Thank you so much for bringing your children to our program.
Join Fran Scerbo as she leads a group through the Bible on Tuesdays, 5pm, CE1. They are getting ready to start the book of Deuteronomy. Everyone is wel-come and can jump in anytime!

A Minute with Missions by Jean Alderman
SOLVE is an organization that helps families meet the needs of their infants and toddlers. They provide clothing – newborn to size 6 (used in good condition and clean is acceptable), diapers, baby food, formula fortified with iron, baby bathtubs, booster seats, and layettes for newborns.
SOLVE loans infant carriers, car seats, strollers, highchairs, playpens, bouncy seats, and walkers to families in need. They accept donations of these items as well, used in good condition is acceptable. When the child outgrows these items, families are asked to return them, clean and smoke free. Cash donations are always welcome so that the more expen-sive items may be purchased when items need to be replaced or added to their inventory.
There will be a collection point in the church lobby throughout the month of February. This is one of the many agen-cies that the Missions Committee supports. We truly appreciate the generous spirit of our church family.
We are looking for someone to fill two positions:
Children’s Home liaison Boy Scout liaison
If you are interested, please contact Kris-tie in the church office.
The heart of the problem us usually the problem of the heart.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30 NIV
GETTING OLDER
Your doctor shook his head the last time you saw him. It seems as if you're always on some kind of medication. Sim-ple household jobs that you used to do with ease are beginning to be too much for you. You're not ready for this. You feel angry, upset, and a little bit worried. A Stephen Minister would like to listen and care.
Please notify the church whenever you or a loved one is hospitalized so visitation can be made by Pastor Jeffrey or a Stephen Minister.
