Raffle Prizes This year’s raffle once again includes an Xbox plus $500 cash. Get your raffle tickets in the parish office or after Mass. Your input, help and support are needed in the planning and for the day of the picnic. For more information please contact Terry Gleeson, Committee Chair at 510-695-6145 or email [email protected].
Help Needed Volunteers needed the day of the picnic to set-up, cook, run the games and clean-up. (We need someone to coordinate a soccer game, too.) If you can volunteer to help with any of these please contact Vanessa in the parish office at 510-530-0761 or the email above. Next planning meeting is Tuesday, July 30th at 5:00 p.m. at St. Paschal.
A Mindset of Service
Sister Faustina was a young, uneducated nun in a con-vent of the Congregation of Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Poland during the 1930s. She came from a poor family that struggled during the years of World War I. She had only three years of simple education, so hers were the humblest tasks in the convent, usually in the kitchen or garden. However, she received extraordinary revelations — or messages — from our Lord Jesus. Jesus asked Sr. Faustina to record these experiences, which she com-piled into notebooks. These notebooks are known today as the Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, and the words contained within are God's loving message of Di-vine Mercy
Though the Divine Mercy message is not new to the teachings of the Church, Sr. Faustina's Diary sparked a great movement, and a strong and significant focus on the mercy of Christ. Saint John Paul II canonized Sr. Faustina in 2000 making her the "first saint of the new millennium."

National Night Out 2019 Divine Mercy parishioners you are all invited! Join us and our fellow neighbors as we gather for the annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6th, between 7-9:00 p.m.in the court-yard of the church at 3701 High St. National Night Out (NNO) is a unique event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and is held the first Tuesday in August. NNO has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partner-ships. Research shows that when neighbors know each other, neighborhoods are safer. As in previous years our St. Vincent de Paul Society is hosting by providing refreshments. Please join us and bring a potluck dish to share.
