A typical day in English starts with a journal entry & attendance.
My expectation is that as soon as you arrive, you will do the following:
a. Find your seat
b. Take out your notebook and a pen/pencil
c. Locate your journal in the back of your notebook
and respond to the daily writing prompt on the screen.
d. Initial the roster when it comes to you
* Yes, you have to make-up missed journals.
* Yes, I will be collecting notebooks for journal
evaluation.
* Writing topics and purpose will shift based upon current
events, units and other things we are working upon in class.
English then continues with going over homework and/ or collecting
homework.
Here’s how that looks in the UPPER LEFT corner of your paper:
On your homework, all of this is required, no matter the assignment/quiz, etc…:
