What are the steps in a TIMELINE?

Timeline: What COUNTS?

You must teach 3 of the 5 years of your initial educator license in order to write and implement a PDP and apply for a Professional Educator license

“Teaching” means regularly seeing the same students

A year-long subbing job can be counted

Subbing in various classes or schools cannot

You can write and implement with a five, four, or three year plan depending upon individual circumstances

If you graduated in 2010 and anticipate you will have worked at least three of the five years of your license and have not yet written a PDP you must write it NOW.Your goal must be submitted to your three reviewers asap so you can fulfill a three year timeline.You will need to get a one-year extension to complete plan

Average the scores and look at your areas of Strength (3.2-4), Growth (2.7-3.19), and Priority (1.0-2.69).

Reflect on Best PracticeAs you contributed teaching ideas and strategies related to the teaching standards, you were sharing best practices. As teachers who write PDPs you are engaged in a career-long search for best practice and best practitioners. A common activity in a PDP is reflecting on professional literature. Robert Marzano is a recognized expert in best practice.
