OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS Each year the PTO funds many projects such as Artist in Residence, School Assemblies, Teacher Grants and additional funding for new books, technology for each classroom, as well as new equipment. In 2015, we were able to purchased our new amazing climbing wall. We focus our fundraising to be directed toward specific programs each year.
Many hands make light work. We are not able to do all the things we do without our parent volunteers. This is where you can come in! We need your help, and so do your children. Independent studies on parent involvement have shown that when parents get involved their children’s education grades go up and test scores improve. The best way to be involved is to be “in the know” and sign up for our monthly eNewsletter. Some current and active volunteering opportunities are:
The 5th Annual Gorge Kids Triathlon will be held on Sunday, September 20th, 2015! Date: Sunday, September 20th, 2015 Times: check in opens at 8:30am, race begins at 10:00am Where: Hood River Waterfront Park Cost: $20 per athlete (pre-registration) and $30 per athlete (day-of event)

BOOK FAIR IS COMING UP!!!! October 5-9th, 2015 Volunteer to work the book fair, set up, or take down event, or advertising before. You can sign up to volunteer for our fundraisers by using our Sign Up Genius!
WESTSIDE ROBOTICS TEAM
We are excited to be able to form our very own robotics club!!!! Volunteers are needed to help develop this club and get it up and running! Get in on the ground floor!
TerraCycle upcycles and recycles traditionally non-recyclable waste (including cereal bags, chip bags, tooth brushes, etc.) into a large variety of consumer products. These products keep waste out of our landfills and contribute to a cleaner world. Recycling containers are available at schoolfor convenient drop-off and for each item you collect, TerraCycle makes a donation to Westside.
Our student, staff & parent “Green Team” is seeking volunteers to help sort & ship the items
Mondays at 8:10am-8:30. Please only send in the items listed BELOW. Post this flyer on your refrigerator for easy reference.
