What is Title 1?

• Part of the federal No Child Left Behind Act• Largest federal primary and secondary education

program.• The funds help educators support children in

economically challenged communities.• It ensures that parents have opportunities to be

involved in their child’s education.• Schools and districts receiving funds must show

annual academic improvement. – NYS annual yearly progress [AYP] in ELA and

How do Frontier students benefit from Title 1?

• All teachers employed in Frontier are highly qualified and certified to teach their assigned subject/grade level.

• AIS [Academic Intervention Services] and

SAIS [ Supplemental Academic Intervention Services]

– Provide support to students in ELA, math, science and social studies

• Frontier has historically concentrated on supporting student literacy.

AIMSWeb Assessment K-8• AIMSweb is a benchmark and

progress monitoring system based on direct, frequent and continuous student assessment. The results can be reported to students, parents, teachers and administrators via a web-based data management and reporting system to determine response to intervention.
