His Name

There is a name that is so precious,A name so wonderful to me.His name is worthy of all praises.Because of Him, I am made free.

His name is Jesus, oh how I love Him,The One who gave His life for me.Because of love so unconditional,I will have life eternally.

His name speaks peace unto my storm-clouds.His name speaks calm unto my fears. And when I feel that no one loves me,His loving presence is so near.

Someday I’ll leave this early dwelling.Through time and space my soul will soar,And finally see the face of Jesus,And praise His name forevermore!

His name is Jesus, oh how I love Him,The One who gave His life for me.Because of love so unconditional,I will have life eternally.

GENERATIONS OF GRACE

More than 20 years ago, the Children’s Ministry leaders and elders at Grace Church had a vision to create an all-new, comprehensive, children’s Sunday School curriculum. These God-centered, ministry-minded lessons would teach the length and breadth of Scripture in a unique way that would unite families and children of all ages around God’s Word.

The project was officially launched in April 2002, when a team of Sunday school teachers, parents, illustrators, editors, and elders began work on the first year of the curriculum. Completed in

2003, the material was immediately pressed

into service in our own Sunday

School ministry. By 2006, more than

400 ministries were using Generations of Grace (GOG). Today, some 2,200 churches, missionaries, and homeschools scattered around the globe are using GOG on a regular basis.

Since its launch more than a decade ago, Generations of Grace has remained essentially unchanged. In an effort to make the curriculum more accurately reflect the philosophy of the Children’s Ministry here at Grace Church, we’re pleased to announce the completion of a comprehensive revision of the first year of GOG.

The Children’s Ministry of Grace Church exists to glorify God through evangelizing children, encouraging parents, and edifying servants so that the gospel may be spread among our children, families may be supported, and the church may be strengthened. Reflecting those convictions, this Generations of Grace revision is designed not only as a Sunday School curriculum for children,

but as a tool for personal spiritual growth for those who serve in Sunday School as well as a resource for families.

Incorporating much of the feedback we’ve received from Sunday School teachers in our own church and numerous others, updates include a new spotlight on the gospel feature; child friendly definitions of key words; two age-appropriate teaching outlines for each lesson; new activities, games, and illustration ideas; a redemptive timeline; and pictures of completed crafts—all part of the new Teacher and Craft Books. New Activity and Coloring Books can be used both in the classroom and at home, to supplement and support family devotions.

The new Family Devotional was born out of the desire to encourage and equip parents to study the Bible at home. This resource provides five daily devotionals that correspond with each week’s

lesson so that parents can reinforce the truths their children learn in Sunday School. These devotions aim at helping parents to teach their children about God’s holiness and their own sinfulness, to instruct them about Christ and what He has done, to tell them what God demands of sinners, to advise them to count the cost thoughtfully, and to urge them to trust Christ.

Teaching our children God’s truth is a constant, full-time occupation (Deuteronomy 11:19). We hope that this new and improved Generations of Grace will help you make the most of every opportunity.

The Generations of Grace Family Devotional, Activity Book, and Coloring Book are available for purchase this morning on the patio.
