We look forward to seeing you. It has been a busy year with many new programmatic changes in the department. Reflecting the strengths and growth of our department, we are very proud that seven of our programs were recognized by U.S. News as among the best in the country. Considering our programs collectively, we were the highest ranked program of our size in the entire U.S.! We have an exciting new resident education program with the creation of primary care, global health, public policy and research tracks. Our research program remains one of the top in the country, with more than $37 million in grant and contract funding. Our clinical programs are expanding with the creation of Centers of Excellence programs. We are undergoing a facelift, with major renovations planned for faculty offices as well as outpatient care facilities, and we will soon start construction on a dedicated grand entrance to the Shands Hospital for Children. These efforts are part of a $100 million dollar capital improvement program for pediatric facilities. Indeed, it’s been a busy year filled with some amazing leaps of growth and change! On Saturday October 13, we’ll be celebrating with dinner and plenty of dancing to the music of Smooth Rx, featuring the best conga player in town (Dr. Gonzalez, of course)! This is going to be a great time so again, welcome and... Go Gators!
