Nursing – Associate Degree ProgramPetition Process Steps 1 & 2Previously admitted pre-ADN students who have not attended classes for three calendar years would need to reapply to make their pre-ADN program active again and are subject to any new program requirements/standards for admission and for the petition process.

At the conclusion of this presentation you will need to complete the ADN Pre-Admission Quiz and bring it to your WITC admission meeting
with your WITC campus counselor

Petition Process
Step 1 – Admission Requirements to pre-ADN
• Complete the WITC Application for Admission and submit the $30 nonrefundable fee to the WITC campus of choice.
• Make an appointment to complete the college entrance assessment (Accuplacer). Associate Degree or higher is also acceptable in lieu of Accuplacer.
• Have earned a high school diploma or GED/HSED certificate• Complete WITC pre-ADN Admissions Quiz• Review and sign Background Check Disclosure• Review and sign Functional Abilities Disclosure• Participate in an admissions meeting and educational goal discussion with a
WITC counselor.
The student will be admitted to “pre-ADN” with completion of STEP 1and may apply for Financial Aid.

Step 2 – Admission Requirements for core-ADN Program
• Meet Accuplacer entrance assessment scores for the core-ADN program. • Complete one year of high school chemistry (with a lab) or one term of
college-level chemistry (with a lab) with a 2.0 or better. • Complete a Nursing Assistant course with a grade of 2.0 or better, or provide
documentation of completing a course. • Attend an in-person ADN Information Session, or view it online, Petition
Process Steps 2 and 3 .

Step 3 – Priority Petition
Complete priority petition for admission forms:• WITC transcripts to verify course completion and credit for prior• Review and sign Background Check Disclosure• Review and sign the Functional Ability Disclosure• Complete and sign Intent to Enter-Checklist form
Prioritization of Applicants
Highest priority admission will be given for the student who:1. Has earned a “B-” or better in
• General Anatomy and Physiology• Advanced Anatomy and Physiology
2. Has completed, with a 2.0 or better, the other ADN program General Studies requirements in the order listed
3. The more General Studies requirements completed in the order listed, the higher the admission priority
Remember, you can petition with a C in General and Advanced A&P, but you must retake the course and earn a B- or better to be admitted
Financial Aid Limits
Please note…there are Financial Aids limits!
The student who has completed 40 credits but has not met the ADN General Studies program requirements will no longer be eligible for Financial Aid
Coursework from Other Colleges(Credit for Prior Learning)
If you have taken program-required General Studies courses from other colleges
You must SUBMIT an OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT indicating the GRADEyou earned in the course prior to petitioning
Prioritization of Applicants
In the event that applicants have equally met the Priority Petition for Admission requirements, the student with the
earliest documented date of completion of the Pre-ADN Admission (Step 1) requirements will be admitted first
Petition for Entry into the ADN Program
Priority petition status will be given to those students who haveCompleted both courses with a “B-” or higher

Completed with a “C” or higher, in this order• 10809188 Developmental Psychology• 10801136 English Composition 1• 10801196 Oral/Interpersonal Communications• 10806197 Microbiology• 10809198 Introduction to Psychology• 10809196 Introduction to Sociology• 5 elective credits of any Associate degree level (10 level) or higher
