Completeness Notes include all assigned information. All sections/parts of the assigned readings include detailed and complete notes.

Notes include all assigned information. However, some sections/parts of the assigned readings include notes that lack detail or are incomplete.

Notes do not include all assigned information and/or notes are mostly incomplete and lacking in detail.

Notes are mostly incomplete or simply copied.

Organization Notes are well organized and easy to understand.

Notes are mostly well organized. Some parts may be difficult to understand/read.

Notes are mostly disorganized and difficult to understand/read

Little or no attempt is made to organize notes.

Paraphrasing/ Copied Text All notes are student’s words with a few paraphrased and/or necessary direct quotations.

Notes are mostly student’s words. Some quotations are present, but more than necessary.

Some notes are student’s words, but mostly copied/quoted text directly from book.
