BayCare Medical Group is pleased to have two Patient Experience Coordinators within the department of Clinical Quality and Process Improvement, overseen by Dr. Tesha Simpson. As all physician practices strive for patient-centered care, Gina Sanchez and Jennifer Jones play a pivotal role in support of the physician offices for a positive patient experience, both in outcome and patient interaction.
This is accomplished in several ways. Both coordinators are available to the physicians and site managers to visit the office for an evaluation of team work, patient interaction and work flow. Time is spent shadowing team members to determine if conversations and interactions with patients are patient centered. Training and reinforcement of the AIDET Communication Model is also completed to improve patient satisfaction scores. Recommendations are provided to the site manager for additional education with follow up. Enhancements for improved patient privacy will also be made.
When a patient or family member is dissatisfied, they can contact the Patient Experience Coordinators for resolution. Jennifer and Gina act compassionately as a patient advocate to partner with the physician and site manager in working toward a positive resolution. Follow up is completed to be certain that processes are improved for better outcomes for future situations.
Both Patient Experience Coordinators are working with the practice administrators and site managers to review and improve Press-Ganey scores for patient experience. They can assist in generating reports and drilling down the data. Plans are then developed to determine how to move forward to improve results. Follow-up tracking is then completed to determine if the strategies were successful.
As we move forward into 2015, our new key performance indicator (KPI) will be important for you to track. The KPI is “In using a number from 0 to 10, with 10 being the best, what number would you use to rate your provider?” This number is influenced by the office team working together with the physician. Gina and Jennifer can assist you with reviewing and improving your results.
Contact Jennifer Jones with Region 1 at (727) 524-2638 or Gina Sanchez with Region 2 at (727) 532-1361 through BMG Administration. They will be glad to assist you and your team.
