Rotary Club of Huntsville, Texas * Miss the Meeting, Miss the Fun!

Miss the Meeting. Miss the Fun!

Paul Harris Fellow Recognition A Paul Harris Fellow is a distinction shared by men and women in more than one hundred nations, many of whom have made significant contributions to world peace and understanding. The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. Paul Harris Fellows receive a certificate and pin.

GOVERNOR REACHES GOAL Have you wondered what Santa Claus would look like without a beard?

Your District Governor, who stands in for the jolly old elf each Christmas, has agreed to have his beard shaved off at the 2019 District Conference next April when contributions from Clubs and individuals in the District to the Polio Plus campaign equal/exceed $167,000 by that time. With a local match of 1:1 (up to $175,000) and the Bill and Melinda Gates 2:1 match, a contribution in that amount will result in $1,000,000 being raised to continue our effort to eradicate Polio!

Barry Rassin the new President of Rotary International has outlined his goals and his theme for the year, and we will run beside him to

accomplish them together.

▪ To do this we do not begin with planning and assigning task….we begin….with inspiration!

▪ We begin with the awaking of our souls, with inspiration and longing for a better world. We must not sit back and wait for

someone else to do it.

▪ We must be that inspiration! How you ask? You must inspire others with your words and deeds.

You make a radical leap into action through Leadership! ➢ The L in leap stands for Love. Love and care for others, have empathy for others treat them as you would want to be treated or how you

would treat a family member.

➢ The E stands for Enthusiasm. Let others feel and experience your passion and enthusiasm for Rotary.

➢ The A stands for Audacity. Be bold and challenge yourself with new goals, especially things that you never thought you could do but you

probably can!

➢ The P stands for Proof. Be the proof …Lead by example, other will catch the wave and want to go along for the ride!

• With Leadership being the overarching theme for this year, the goal is to develop strong leadership abilities and skills in our membership! It

will ensure continuity and consistency in our club going forward and staying strong.

So, fellow Rotarians, I charge you with spending some time thinking about what inspires you! BE THE INSPIRATION this year, in your homes

and at work, in our club and in the community that we all share!
