Building of the TabernacleBased on Exodus 35:1–36:6
God told Moses to build a tabernacle for the people to worship God. Moses asked the Israelite people to bring gold, silver, and bronze; blue, purple, and red yarn; special wood; oil; and gemstones as offerings to help build the tabernacle. The Israelites gladly gave the special materials they had.
God gave Moses specific instructions on how to build the tabernacle. God also gave people the ability to follow His instructions. God gave Bezalel (BEHZ uh lehl) and Oholiab (oh HOH lih ab) the skills (abilities to do something well) to work with metals, gems, wood, and yarn. These men could teach other people these skills. Bezalel, Oholiab, and the skilled workers took the supplies and began to build God's tabernacle.
Every day the people brought supplies. The workers told Moses they had more supplies than they needed.
Moses told the people to stop bringing supplies. The people were excited about building God's tabernacle. The people gave more than enough supplies to build the tabernacle.
