What is a PIP(Performance ImprovementPlan)? A performance improvement plan is aformal process used by supervisors to helpemployees improve performance ormodify behavior. 4. Reasons to Implement P.I.P.s Poor attendance Falling below the companies desiredperformance metrics Behavior and Attitude 5. What managers need to know Specifically identify the performance to beimproved or the behavior to be corrected. Provide clear expectations and metrics about thework to be performed or behavior that mustchange. Identify the support and resources available tohelp the employee make the requiredimprovements. Establish a plan for reviewing the employee'sprogress and providing feedback to the employeefor the duration of the PIP. Specify possible consequences if performancestandards as identified in the PIP are not met. 6. Guidelines for P.I.P.s Metrics must not fall lower while on P.I.P,doing so will lead to disciplinary action.While on P.I.P for attendance if you haveany unscheduled absences furtherdisciplinary action will follow 7.
